Shinsekai Night Food Tour with 15 Dishes & 3 Drinks

Shout out to our guide, Michael "The Backstreet Boy" and his very weird, favorite cocktail with Calpis. He brought us to seemingly very local bars & restaurants around Shinsekai, and we ate a TON of varied, famous Osaka food. Value for money was excellent just on the amount of food offered (none of us in the group could finish them hehe), but Michael's insights and anecdotes as a foreigner living 5 years in Japan heightened the experience. He even shook things up with a minigame (with a prize!) and a photoshoot with Tsutenkaku tower.

This was a wonderful tour full of wonderful food and amazing spots in Osaka. Would highly recommend. Our tour guide (Kevin) was especially wonderful and made everyone on the tour feel at home. Would highly recommend and would do it again in a heartbeat.

Best way to experience Osaka is to go on a food tour just like this one. Priority access to less touristy restaurants, informative and friendly guide, and great food. Our guide Taka was very friendly, funny and answered all our questions. Highly recommend! 🤗

Nick was fantastic. He balanced history with wit all while maintaining Japan's respect and culture. Each restaurant we visited was delicious. He explained the food and why the location is part of the tour. I was hesitant to do this because it's our first time to Japan and what if we didnt like something? That was not the case. I highly recommend this adventure if you want to both sight see and indulge in local delicious cuisine.

We had a great time trtying out many different foods. Eventhough our guide was Candaian, he was very knowledgable about the area and about Japanese cuisine and customs. The food was delicious and the beverage options both alcoholic and non were great.

Great fun tour with our guide James. He threw in some extra fun moments such as arm wrestling with a machine and beer jugging contest with an local. fun and entertaining and plenty of food and drinks!

Best experience of Osaka! Taka was a fantastic guide with a wealth of knowledge and very fluent in English. we had some of the best food on our entire trip on this tour! definitely something for everyone

Had a great time with Yuichi and Knox and the tour. Really enjoyed the group size, and the chance to see parts of Osaka (and try foods) we would not have otherwise. This is a tasting tours… lots of little bites and a few drinks over multiple stops. Be prepared for this going in… there is lots of sharing but we felt like it added up to a nice amount of food. Loved the chance to try some foods (and a few drinks!) we would not have otherwise. (How did I not know about the lemon sour?!) The guides really made it fun and entertaining, weaving around to several spots while sharing fun facts. (And answering burning questions you didn’t know you needed to know like “What is a tomato sour?” “Why is my beer green?” “What animal is not a fan of the shamisen?” And “What’s up with that gold baby?” Thanks for a fun night!

Marcel was an exceptional host guide. He created an unforgettable experience! He showed us some “unmissable” dishes as well as some items that were delightfully unexpected. The Shinsekai area is top-notch for retro charm & tasty dishes! We stayed near Dotonbori, but found Shinsekai to be a very charming & lively alternative. We had a good group of visitors from around the globe. Marcel brought the local’s perspective, shared valuable insights and fostered a very convivial atmosphere. We’re independent travelers who wanted to add a bit of structure to our itinerary and wound up having a night out with new friends! Thanks again to Marcel!

Our food tour in Shinsekai, Osaka, was incredibly fun and entertaining. This was mainly due to our guide, Nick, who put a lot of energy and effort into the tour. As a (former) American, he spoke clear English and was very motivated to show us around. The food was also very delicious and varied. During the tour, we had great conversations, and Nick provided a lot of interesting information about the lifestyle, culture, and history of Osaka. This made the evening not only enjoyable and tasty but also educational.
