Booking through Klook made our Fort Santiago trip super convenient — we didn’t have to fall in line to buy tickets, just showed the voucher at the entrance and went straight in. It really saved us time and hassle, especially since it was quite busy that day. We visited during Halloween, and the whole place had a more spooky and mysterious vibe — the dim lights, old stone walls, and historic ruins really made it feel like stepping back in time. It was both fun and eerie in the best way!
This is the second place I visited after Baluarte de San Diego. The voucher redemption process was quick and easy; just show the voucher to the staff near the ticket booth. Fort Santiago is a historical fortress in Intramuros, Manila, Philippines, built by the Spanish in 1571. It witnessed various significant events in Philippine history, especially related to the independence struggle. The fort is famous as the final prison of the Philippine national hero, Dr. Jose Rizal, before his execution in 1896.
Here’s a short and catchy Klook-style review you can post: --- Fort Santiago is beautiful on its own but it truly comes to life when you join the Don’t Skip Manila walking tour! The stories, humor, and passion make you see the place in a whole new way. Book here: https://s.klook.com/c/_woVMZ04w9 #DontSkipManila #FortSantiago #Intramuros
We had an exciting and memorable day during today's visit at Fort Santiago in Intramuros Manila. The entrance fee of 75.00 Php pesos is quite justifiable considering the knowledge and enjoyment we experience around the premises with lots of Philippine history and culture specially about our National hero Jose Rizal's biograhy and personal items not to mention his almost real depiction of his solitary compinement in his prison cell (Silid Pagnilay) and trial cell (Silid Paglitis). Everyone with the time and privelege to visit this place surely will love and adore the old prison cells and walkways around the walled city with cannons and the incredible view of the Pasig river on its north side pathway.
It was a shame that the dungeons were closed at the time we were there. It would have made the ticket more value-for-money. Still, it's worth the visit for its historical value. Don't miss the museum dedicated to Rizal inside.
It was a spontaneous evening when I decided to go in to make my MNL trip worthwhile. No regrets, it was so peaceful, no crowds, only me and the local cats having a fun tour. The kitties accompanied me everywhere I go, and of course I felt honored. I saw the area where they put cardboard boxes, drinking water fountain, & food bowls! I hope these are well maintained as well, so much compassion for our beloved felines. Anyway, I love the vibe of the place, I felt safe even on the less lit areas where I traverse at. I value history even if I don’t know much or may have forgotten some knowledge from school days. It’s always a love-hate relationship between what happened before and now. So much things has changed but this place remains the same like how it should be. Also, kudos to the people who worked extra mile to make the place clean, safe, &, more importantly preserved the structures and buildings that’s been a great evidence of the past. Happy 127th Independence Day my fellow Filipino
Booked the Intramuros Pass through Klook and it was totally worth it! I got to visit Fort Santiago, Casa Manila, and Baluarte de San Diego all in one day without the hassle of buying separate tickets. Everything was smooth and well-organized. The historical sites were beautifully preserved and very informative.
fort santiago late at night is a very different feel! less people as expected and it has this serene yet melancholic atmosphere. we don't dare enter the underground dungeon when we're the only visitors around left! but overall, it is worth it!
