Review for: Hair Accessories

The store has a good service attitude. You can communicate in simple English or gestures (I communicated in simple Japanese). It’s up to you whether you want to wear it or not. There are socks, small bags (almost only dark blue left when choosing) and a Photos (take photos first after wearing them, and give photos when returning the clothes). It is recommended to pay extra to get your hair done! The hairstylist was very professional and worked very quickly. The children were very happy to wear kimonos (because the children had short hair, we prepared the hair accessories ourselves, so we didn’t pay extra). In addition, it is recommended to make a reservation for the first session (the sessions at Josaien start earlier than those at Suizenji Temple). There are not many people who can choose the style they like. However, there are few light colors. I only saw two favorites in it. The height of the child is just right. There are also few designs and colors. It was around noon when we returned it, and there were many people in the store who were just about to put it on and were not available to help us with it yet. We were asked to return it in 20 minutes. In addition, Klook’s customer service was very rude. They kept saying that they would meet at Suizenji Jojoen, but in fact, they could just go directly to Sakura nobaba Josaien’s store. The customer service was not professional, and later they directly reported to the customer service that their information was wrong.

Review for: 【Josaien】Kimono Rental with Photoshoot Japanese Culture Experience

The shop is located in Chengcaiyuan Shopping Street, with parking lot and convenient location. The number of kimono styles is good, and you can still choose the style that suits your taste. The store staff patiently selected and matched kimonos and accessories for us, and the process was quick and smooth. There is room for improvement in the hair styling, the hair is not tied satisfactorily and it tends to become loose. After changing clothes, we walked from Josaien to Kumamoto Castle for a visit. The children were very interested in the history of Kumamoto Castle. We walked slowly from the ground to the top floor and took photos everywhere. It took about 2 hours and everyone was a little tired (especially those who were not used to wearing wooden clogs). . . . . . Although the sun was shining that day, it was very windy, which messed up my hair and ruined my mood for taking photos! So I didn’t have the chance to use the Suizenji Temple admission ticket that came with the store, what a pity!

The store is located in Josaien. Although the store clerk only speaks Japanese, communication is no problem. The store clerk is quick to change kimonos and provides socks, a small bag and a photo. Kumamoto Castle is nearby, and you can also add money to the store. The garden store also offers kimonos

Kumamoto Castle is larger and has more photo studios, so it’s better to make a reservation at the one at Josaien. There is only one woman in charge of changing and picking clothes, and there are too many people to take care of her. The price is cheap and can be worn for a day. You can also wear a kimono and return it to the kimono in front of the water temple.

For a beautiful kimono, hairstyle is a must. The clerk did it quickly. The wind was strong and my hair didn’t fall apart all day long. There are also many choices for hair accessories.

The exchange is easy, the selection of yukata styles is good, and the store will also provide advice on color matching! I will choose this kimono shop next time!

Review for: 【Josaien】Kimono Rental with Photoshoot Japanese Culture Experience

Our experience with the Kumamoto Castle & Josaien Kimono and Yukata Experience was very enjoyable overall, with the Klook booking process being smooth and convenient, making the activity easy to access and manage. The pricing feels reasonable considering both the cultural experience and the beautiful historical surroundings included. The facilities were clean, organized, and tourist-friendly, with staff assisting properly during the kimono and yukata dressing process. Staff were polite, patient, and helpful, ensuring a comfortable experience throughout the activity. The highlight was walking around the Kumamoto Castle and Josaien area while wearing traditional Japanese attire, which created a very authentic and memorable atmosphere. The experience also offered great opportunities for photography and cultural immersion. Overall, it is a unique and worthwhile activity for travelers wanting to experience a traditional side of Japan.

The temperature was relatively cold that day. We originally scheduled the time at 4 o'clock, but after asking, the store allowed us to try the Japanese kimono early. They were very kind and the service attitude was very good. However, there is an additional charge for hair and makeup.

Klook’s customer service is not professional, and they reported it directly to the customer service later. Their information is wrong, but the website has not updated the information yet.
