Bought this by accident as we are not heading to Kobe but the train pass is valid till next year April so we can keep it for our next trip. It will only activate when you use it. As for the osaka pass, it is one of the best pass to buy as it gives to free access to so many attractions. We have only went to 4 attractions and the total entry price is a lot more than what we paid for the osaka pass.
