What to expect
Go on a fun adventure on this one-day tour of Siem Reap that takes you to some of the temples furthest from the city, Koh Ker and Beng Mealea. Choose between a join in or a private tour depending on your personal preference. On the day of the tour, start off with a pick up at your hotel, immediately followed by departure to the first stop of the tour, Beng Mealea Temple. Located a couple of hours northeast of Siem Reap, it is one of the most mysterious temples as it has been consumed by the jungle. However, some of the dense forest has been cut back, allowing visitors to explore it and see chiseled sandstone blocks, impressive wall carvings and maybe even a peek at the well-preserved library of the collapsed central tower. You'll then make your way to Koh Ker, a complex of temples abandoned to the forests of the north that was once the capital of the Angkorian empire from AD 928 to AD 944. Walk around and inspect the detailed stone carvings, doorposts and slender window columns of Prasat Krahom and climb the stairs of Prasat Thom for a spectacular view of the entire area. Reenergize yourself after half a day's worth of travel and exploration with a lunch at your own expense, where you can enjoy a variety of traditional Cambodian cuisine, right before you head back to your hotel.

really a good deal. the tourguide - Mr Sopheap - was extremely kind, helpful and knowledgeable. we booked this trip expecting to see temples but we returned with a better experience: we learned history, culture, and fun facts about the temples. if you have the chance to book this, do not miss out! highly recommended tour and tourguide!!!
Bengmealea temple and Koh Ker temple are very special temples and you should not miss them. They are absolutely worth going. Bengmealea temple is covered bu green in rain season which is very beautiful. You cant see that at other temple. Koh Ker temple is just amazing. It huge and you can climb to the top and get a beautiful view of the surrounding forest. Tour guide Sopheap is very nice and share a lot about Cambodia with me. Its a great tour!
Absolutely amazing trip, I got so much insight of the history and culture in ome trip. The guide is very knowledgeable and interested in history of the country. Absolutely professional, time management impeccable. The tour company was very professional from the start. They sent me an email with all the details beforehand. I opted for a join in trip, since nobody was there, it became a private tour, the company could have cancelled but they didn't. It was great.
The tour was fabulous! The pickup was on time amd the transport was comfortable. We were 3 tourists and it felt like a private tour. Mr. Sopheap was our guide and he took good care of us. He was friendly and knowledgeble. We first visited the Beng melea temple amd spend almost 2 hrs there. Mr. Sopheap showed us around and told is so much about the place, history and culture. Then we headed to the Koh Ker pyramid temple, which is certainly the highlight of the tour. We had lunch before visiting the pyramid. The Koh Ker pyramid is so majestic! Definitely a must visit spot when in Siem Reap. Our guide also showed us 2 extra spots nearby which were not in the tour. They were amazong too... Evrything about the tour was perfect. It was a hot day, so we were provided cold water amd cold towel. He also gave us refreshing sugarcane juice to beat the hit. Had a great day!
clearly the best trip so far in Siem Reap. These temples are located far from the city and belong to an Era older than Angkor Wat. Naturally taken over by the forestation and un plundered by the various regimes, they are beautiful and dramatic due to the infusion of trees into the structures. The pyramid temple at Koh Ker is one of the most beautiful structures I have seen. The guide Mr Narath was excellent and provided such valuable information about each site and the kingdom from back then. The lunch is at small shops outside the main temple but we had some fresh fruits to stay light and cool.
The two points in the itinerary are far away from the outer circle (especially Gongkai) but convenient. It is not convenient to travel alone. Girls are afraid of danger when chartering a car. Although participating in the tour is a bit more expensive than chartering a car, But it’s a bit cheaper than the outer group tour prices, and the key point is that it’s very convenient. It's just that Bengmilie is actually not far from the new airport. I wonder if it will be possible to go directly to the airport without returning to the city to end the trip. This feels very convenient for passengers with late flights. In the morning, we will first pick up people at various accommodation points in the city, and then go to a coffee shop to meet up and then transfer. After the transfer, we change cars. The seats of the cars turn into velvet sofa chairs, which is very comfortable for long-distance driving. I went to Beng Meili first, and then to Gongkai. The ticket price for Gongkai has increased significantly, to $15, but both places are much different from the style of Angkor Angkor, so it is still worth a visit. After that, we will go to a small temple called "Prasat Pram" near the Gongkhai Pyramid. There are two pagodas covered by trees. Different from the thick roots of Ta Prohm, there are many dense tree roots, which is amazing. All in all, it was a pleasant trip. The tour guide is also very responsible and highly recommended.
Both routes take about 1.5 to 2 hours from Siem Reap city, but the views of the countryside are rare so it wasn't a problem. Both were ruins that I really wanted to visit, so I was very satisfied. It turns out that there are many other ruins in addition to the ones you see in the photos. Our guide, Kim, was very kind and her explanations were easy to understand. The view of the horizon from the top of the Koh Ker ruins was amazing. Ben Melia was the world of Laputa. You'll be walking through the forest, and you'll be climbing the pyramids, so comfortable shoes and a hat are a must.
Had a very memorable and wonderful time soaking in every bit of the magnificent Koh Ker and Beng Mealea temple complex. And a special shout out to my fantastic and sincere tour guide Mr Phyrom ! Thank you so much for making this a unforgivable and beautiful experience. A trip I will definitely highly recommend to everyone who loves nature, culture and history!
It was beautiful! Everyone who visits Cambodia should definitely come. Can't miss. The temples felt like you are in a movie. Very peaceful, totally different than Angkor Wat. G1 and Touch were super helpful and really dedicated to make us have great experience :)
these are far away temples from the angkor area. my guide is Sopheap Rath and he knows alot about the temple history and willing to share all the knowledge with you. in addition he will also share a lot of cambodia history with you. he will be ready to help you take picture when you want to. our first stop is at Prasat Beng Mealea, this temple is mostly alot of ruins and devastation from wars. you will see how massive it is. the second stop is to Kor Ker temple, I specially like the pyramid style and you can climb up all the way to the top and get a good photo shot on top. in addition the guide also brought us to the Prasat Pram temple in the area. I really love this temple which has tree over growing onto the temple. this can make very good instagram picture. the last additional temple he brought us was to the Prasat Neang Khmau also known as the Dark Lady temple. I'll leave you to find out why it's called that.
