Reviews
Reviews summarythe employees were nice to us and they steam the clothes before placing them back on the racks and I feel the place has a good ambiance even there were a lot of people during our time there (9am) and one more thing, if you rent a Hanbok, entrance is free going inside the Palace
I am extremely grateful to Seonhwa Hanbok Rental and the tour operator for allowing me to reschedule my rental date because it hadn't crossed my mind that Gyeongbokgung Palace is closed on Tuesdays and I mistakenly booked a rental on that day. Thank you so much for your kind consideration! It is no doubt the most booked rental service here because it has tons of hanbok to choose from! You can choose whatever you like based on your size and there's no category be it basic or premium, it is up to you to choose what suits you best! They also fix your hair and let you borrow some accessories like purses and hair pieces. Every staff is so kind and accommodating. They make you feel beautiful inside and out. They also let you keep your braids after the rental so I kept mine 'til my flight back home that night. My advice for others is to NEVER BOOK ON A TUESDAY and try to book the 9:00AM slot to have more options to choose from. Also, if you're planning to book some time this winter, try to add on a fur coat because it gets really freezing outside :)
Advantages: 1. Very close to Exit 4 of the subway station. You will see it as soon as you get out and walk back. 2. Very close to Gyeongbokgung Palace. You can get there just after crossing a zebra crossing from the Hanbok store. 3. Prices are good for both princess style and traditional styles. Same 4. If you are a girl, the staff will help you dress carefully 5. All can speak Chinese 6. There will be free hair braiding Disadvantages: 1. It will be quite confusing when there are many people on site 2. Some sizes, styles and colors are limited 3. There are no shawls here Only vests are available. 4. Some staff felt relatively unskilled. The one who helped me braid my hair was a bit painful and was more casual... 5. There were fewer styles for boys, and the staff did not take the initiative to explain the accessories that boys should choose. The reader is at a loss 6. The princess models are all in sets and cannot be matched with each other and there are few choices. If you want a special experience, you can consider other stores. If you want to simply and quickly experience hanbok and take photos at Gyeongbokgung Palace, it is still highly recommended. The store here is on the second floor. There is a sticker machine downstairs. After you change your clothes, you can go down and take pictures first.
staffs are very accommodating and they assisted us in choosing our size and wearing the hanbok. it rained that day and we weren't able to go on our 9am schedule. we asked the staffs if we can go on the afternoon and they happily agreed. they do basic hairstyles, let your borrow hair accessories, head accessories and bag for free. they also keep your belongings safe like big bags and clothes while you are away. overall, it was a very pleasant experience. highly recommended!! i recommend choosing the earliest schedule to have more colors to choose from. also in case of unexpected delay like what happened to us, it would be better to contact them or drop by their location to inform them for the reschedule. they allow it but only within the day. we dropped by at 9am (while raining) to ask for a reschedule that time.
Advantages: A good experience. There are a lot of clothes to wear as soon as the door opens. It happened to be that Gyeongbokgung Palace suddenly took a break. The store also reminded and helped to change the time, which is really great! Changing clothes and tying hair are very fast. The store staff are generally very friendly and will say hello and chat with you. If you go back early if it's too hot, they will also care about whether you are too hot. Disadvantages: As soon as the store opened, the clerks were busy greeting customers and checking sizes for customers. There were not many clerks to help with introductions, so I had to choose by myself. My waiter also instructed me to take off my pants, but my daughter did not take them off without instructions. As a daughter, I feel a little too hot, and there are only two options for braiding my hair.
it was so dreamy to be a fan of Jewel in the palace and be able to roam around Gyeongbokgung Palace wearing hanbook with my girlfriends. seohwa is a good place to get your hanbok and may choices to.choose from. staff are very accomodating and very helpful
It was truly a wonderful experience. You should arrive early to be able to choose the outfit you like best. I will definitely rent again next time.
the staff are very accommodating. even though that I arrived very early on my preferred time, they still cater me.
It is very convenient to buy on the platform. The service staff in the store can all speak Chinese and will tell you directly what size to wear. We only need to go to the rack to pick the color and style and ask the service staff to try it on! After dressing up, go to the hair braiding area and queue up. The service staff will directly help you tie your hair, and it will be done in a few minutes! Next, just cross the street to reach Gyeongbokgung Palace! Super awesome
It is recommended to choose the earliest session, as you can choose from the most complete styles, and the time spent queuing up for dressing up and braiding will be shorter! There are Chinese-speaking staff who explain the process clearly! The store is right near the subway station, and you can get to Gyeongbokgung Palace across the street, which is very convenient! The day I went was a holiday, so I made an appointment for the 9am session. Before 9:30, everything was changed and I walked slowly to watch the handover ceremony at 10am👍
