Okinawa: Whale Shark Snorkeling Experience

It was perfect experience!! Ami was very client oriented and responsive host. She answered all our questions and there was a lot. We were family of 5 including 11, 9 and 3 years old toddler and we booked whale shark and blue cave snorkeling and diving activities. Even though the weather conditions were not perfect, all was done safely and very fun for all participants. It was one of the best activities that we had in our Japan trip. We got best pictures also.

yume was our guide the snorkeling and she did an amazing job. very kind, friendly, and easy to interact with. we spoke only English and that wasn’t any issue when she gave us instructions. photos and videos she took were given via Apple iPhone Airdrop. the communication for the meetup location was done over WhatsApp where we were messaged exact lot where to go using photos and arrows. no issue finding the meetup location at all. I highly recommend this experience!

We had scheduled snorkeling for October 23, but a typhoon hit, so we immediately changed our plans to go out to sea to see whale sharks at 1:00 PM on the 21st (the last opportunity before the typhoon). The wind and waves were quite strong at the time. Ami led our group of 6 out to sea; she was very attentive and always put our safety first. The whole trip was thoroughly enjoyable. The whale sharks were huge, feeding right beneath our feet, and Ami even recorded videos for us—she is extremely professional!

It was my first time seeing whale sharks up close. The instructor gave a detailed briefing beforehand, and once we were in the water, we joined other groups to observe them. It was a truly worthwhile experience.

Instructor: Teitei is very professional and friendly, and is extremely patient with beginners, taking special care of those experiencing ocean activities for the first time. There are no communication barriers either, as both Mandarin and English are spoken very well.

Yumi was perfect with us. A rare and amazing experience. The proximity to the whale sharks is exceptional. Thank you again!

I experienced an even greater sense of awe than I had expected. Even though the sharks were in a net, their size, power, and proximity were breathtaking. The guide explained everything thoroughly and happily answered our questions. It was scheduled to last two hours, and I thought the experience could be a bit longer so I felt slightly unsatisfied, but it's an experience everyone should have at least once! My kids were thrilled and immediately begged to do it again, haha.

The instructor contacted us the day before to carefully provide the meeting point and also helped us store our valuables. The whale sharks were extremely close, so close that it felt like they might suck you right into their mouths. Highly recommended!

Ami was the perfect guide - she was so friendly and knowledgeable. As first timers at snorkelling, we felt very comfortable and had a great experience. She took great photos and videos for us to keep too! Would definitely recommend Ami to everyone!

very good experience. we can have close look to whale shark! the coach is helpful. only thing to improve is to have lesser group per trip. that’s too many people joining at the same time, so we can’t take nice photos!
