Reviews
The staff were truly wonderful and friendly, spoke English, and chatted with us throughout the experience. My Japanese isn't very good, so I mostly use single words, but the staff thoughtfully used simple words to chat with me about things like where I visited, how many days I was staying, and whether I had been to certain places. It was such simple conversation that it really makes you want to visit again. The explanations when choosing the outfits were very thorough. For the most part, you can choose to upgrade and pay an extra fee on the spot, or you can downgrade, though the difference in price won't be refunded. We chose the Premium & Luxury plan, which allowed us to select lace kimonos. The luxurious and cute lace obi (sash) was an additional 550 yen, but various other accessories like hairstyles, hair ornaments, handbags, and shoes didn't cost extra, and the final look turned out really gorgeous. You can mix and match the hair accessories yourself, but I had the staff style mine. The blue and white floral lace design was truly beautiful, and there was no limit on the number of accessories you could use. You can return them as late as 5:30 PM. Kurashiki offers a canal boat ride experience, and the final boat departure of the day is between 5:00 PM and 5:20 PM, so there is plenty of time to finish the ride and return the kimonos afterward. I highly recommend renting a kimono when visiting Kurashiki to take photos around the area or enjoy the boat ride.
When we traveled to Kurashiki, we chose the yukata experience located above the convenience store. The staff were very friendly and helped us choose a suitable yukata style. You can also pay extra to have your hair styled. If you're visiting Kurashiki and want to feel like a local, you can try the yukata experience; you'll be able to take some beautiful photos! We even had foreign tourists take pictures with us, which was a special experience. It must have been because the kimono yukata were so beautiful! 😻
The experience of renting a kimono at VASARA in Kurashiki was great! The styles are diverse and the texture is exquisite. The staff are friendly and professional, and the service of helping to put on the clothes is attentive. Wearing a kimono and strolling around the Kurashiki Bikan Historical Quarter, taking photos is a great experience, I definitely recommend it!
This is a kimono rental chain with locations in various regions of Japan. Their professional staff are friendly and helpful. We paid an additional fee of approximately 60,000 KRW. It would be helpful to have detailed information about the various options available on Klook. We used a rental car to visit Okayama Castle and Korakuen Garden. Since the return time for the clothing is 5:30 PM, an itinerary that includes Kurashiki, Okayama Castle, and Korakuen seems reasonable.
This time, we booked a parent-child kimono experience. Although there were many add-on charges on-site, I figured since we were already here, and the lace obi I liked was the prettiest here, it was worth it. ❤️ Thank you to the staff for their kind service; even though we had children with us, they were not impatient at all! Instead, they were very friendly and helped with everything. I recommend everyone visiting the Kurashiki Bikan Historical Quarter to come here and try the denim kimono experience 👘. The photos turn out even better than in Kyoto because it's not crowded! 👍
We were there on 5 April for our 5-yo daughter. The services were amazing, couldn’t have asked for more! The location is a big plus as it’s just an easy walk of 2 minutes from the riverside.
First of all, the location here is not clearly marked, the location given is wrong, and it took a lot of time to find the way. Second, there are many additional cost items, and I think they should be clearly stated in the package. Third, the technique of wearing a kimono is not very good. The holes under the armpits of the kimono are facing forward, which is not very beautiful, so you have to pay attention to moving your sleeves back. Fourth, there are not enough staff, and even if you make an appointment, you still need to wait for about 30 minutes. Fifth, there are relatively few styles of kimonos to choose from, especially the trendy lace styles, which are really rare to choose from. Sixth, the most expensive hairstyle added to the shopping cart is totally unsatisfactory and does not match the picture. I have tried similar hairstyles in other places before, and this hairstyle is totally not worth adding to the shopping cart. If you want to wear a kimono, I suggest you go to Kyoto. The CP value this time is very low.
The staff members are friendly and do not overcharge. They won't try to upsell you unless you ask. Although I don't understand Japanese, the staff still applied all the discounts I was entitled to (since I booked via Klook). They worked hard and were so sweet. After helping me dress, they gave me so much positive emotional support and were very attentive. They didn't brush me off just because I'm a foreigner and don't understand the language. I am truly grateful.
The staff was very attentive. Although there weren't a huge variety of kimono styles, there were many different patterns available, so I was still able to find one I liked. The kimonos were all in excellent condition and looked very new. The hair and makeup service was also very quick. Overall, the service was professional and thoughtful, making for a wonderful experience! Even when I was leaving, after changing back into my own clothes, my hair was a bit messy in the back (I couldn't see it myself), and a staff member proactively and carefully helped me fix it, which made the experience even better!
The store owner is very gentle and won't forcefully sell products with increased prices, but they are so attractive that I can't help but want to spend extra money for hair and hair accessories! In the end, the mother and daughter each added 1,100 yen for hair styling and 550 yen for hair accessories. They were very happy!
