This casual workshop is not a formal tea ceremony and is easy for beginners. First, learn how matcha was enjoyed in the past and how it is used today. Then compare a sweetened matcha powder with 100% pure matcha, noticing differences in color, aroma, sweetness, and flavor. Our pure matcha comes directly from a 10th-generation tea merchant in Shizuoka. It is supplied only for this experience and is not sold in stores. Use traditional tea tools to whisk and prepare your own bowl of matcha, then enjoy it with Japanese sweets.
Friendly English-speaking hosts will guide you step by step. This relaxed 45-minute activity fits easily between sightseeing and shopping.
