Reviews
It was convenient fir me and my friend to be picked up right at our hotel lobby. Our charming, hardworking and very knowledgeable tour guide Andrew made us feel comfortable and at ease from the start. He taught us some basic Korean and made sure we could recognise and avoid the bad expressions. His extensive knowledge of Jeju history and humorous trivia made the trip more than interesting. Our trek on Hallasan was cancelled due to heavy snowfall the previous day, but he made sure we took lovely photos whilst playing with us in the deep snow. He also explained how the lava from Hallasan flowed into the Jungmun sea forming stone pillars known as Jusangjeolli as we admired the emerald ocean waves kissing the lava cliff. He would point out to trees and flowers and tell us the names, the most amusing was the ‘what tree’. Before lunch, he shared the history behind the tastiness of black pork. Take this tour to hear it for yourself. Despite that gross bit regarding black pigs, we immensely enjoyed the black pork served two ways, in hot soup and spicy pork with cold noodles. We finished everything including the side dishes. We had to leave the group because we had signed up for a free tour organised by our hotel. Andrew so kindly made arrangements for transport for me and my friend back to our hotel. We were sad to miss the rest of the tour so it means we’ll have to return to Jeju and book another tour with Core Travel for stress-free, professional and heartfelt service.
The east side tour was really amazing! the Manjanggul cave was really cool, the beach was beautiful, the haenyeo (woman divers) museum was really inspiring and lastly the view from Seongsan Ilchulbong was breathtaking. We got the see the woman divers doing a show as well. At the end of the trip we even had a foot bath! We were taught how to scrub our feet with the bath salts. There is quite a lot of walking and stairs to climb for this tour especially for the lava cave and seongsan so be prepared for that. I also have to give a shout out to our amazing guide Helen. She is so sweet and funny and told us so many stories about jeju to entertain us on the trip. I learnt so much about Jeju's history and culture. I really love jeju island. I highly recommend this tour. It's a little on the pricey side but I think it's worth it because you get to visit quite a few UNESO Heritage sites.
My friend and I took the Southern Jeju Day Tour featuring the beauty of UNESCO designated sites. The first stop could have never been more perfect! We went to Mt. Hallasan for a short hike through Eoseungsaengak trail. It was sunny when we went so the majestic beauty of the sunlight passing through snow-piled tree branches was a feast for our eyes. Next, we admired the view of Jusangjeolli Cliff. The cliff had geometric rock formations which look like they were perfectly carved. Then, we had the famous black pork noodle for lunch. Truly a must try! In the afternoon, we resumed our trip by visiting a Buddhist temple. Next, we visited the Cheonjiyeon falls which is one of the New 7 Wonders of Nature. It was calming and peaceful just strolling around the falls. Lastly, we ended the trip with an afternoon tea at a private tea farm! A perfect culmination to the tour. Our tour guide was Henry Jung. He was very infomative, patient, and humorous. Our driver was very polite too. This is definitely a 5-star worthy tour.
Our tour guide Nicole was very cheerful and informative. She shared with us about the story, local culture and some joke about the places. Even willing to find us some food recommendation after the trip. We spent 40-60min per location. And do expect some hiking in Mt Halla. We had pork noodle for lunch and enjoyed the tea before the tour ended. The scenery was amazing and thanks to Nicole for helping us taking photo!
Highly recommend this south tour as it was enough to see the south of Jeju Island. They were loads of walking, Hills and steps, however that's what touring is all about! Our amazing tour guide name Nicole is helpful and super friendly. She explained each destination historiy in detail. Pls note that each stops was made "chop-chop" that will make u feel rushed, but it was still worth it.
Even though it was a rainy day, I still enjoyed this one-day tour with my friends. We were lucky to have two considerate, experienced, and easy-going guides Jin and Henry. They drove us to visit the must-see attractions in Jeju, such as Manjanggul Lava Tube,Seongsan Ilchulbong, and Jeju Haenyeo Museum. Experiencing a Korean foot massage was a wonderful ending for this trip. By the way, we enjoyed a yummy traditional Korean lunch at a restaurant near the beach. Honestly, I strongly recommend joining this gorgeous tour, and if you are as lucky as us, you will have Jin and Henry to be your guides!
The day we had our tour it would not stop raining (monsoon season) and whilst most tour guides would call it a day, our guide Michelle gave it her utmost. All locations on our chosen tour were scenic outdoor ones and Michelle only changed one of those, so as to keep us safe. The rest of the tour remained unchanged yet she still checked in with us regularly to accommodate our different speeds and preferences. She patiently took photos of us, sang two national songs for us, shared personal experiences of way of life in mainland Korea and Jeju and placed these within the context of the country’s history. The van for transport was the most comfortable I’ve ever ridden, I normally get car sick but Michelle’s driving was smooth and the van very comfortable. The tour was well-paced considering we visited 8 places in just 7 and a half hours; I was not at my fittest and I could still keep up and take in the beautiful natural wonders. Lunch was at a beautiful local spot where we got a hearty (and delicious 🤭) bowl of noodle soup that you can only taste in Jeju. I feel so lucky to have have visited such beautiful places with such great company (our tour guide).
Great tour. We started with a visit of the Manjang Cave. The guide Paul gave us lots of explanation about the lava formation. We then went to Woljeongri Beach which was a waste of time. Sure, the sand is white, but the place is just boring and not a nice place to take pictures. We had lunch at a fried fish place. The meal was delicious. We visited the Jeju Haenyeo Museum and watched the Haenyeo show. Then we climbed up the Seongsan Sunrise Peak. It was a short but tiring climb since we were short on time. We then visited a herb park which was lovely but we didn’t get much time to look around. We went to wash our feet with lavender and had some peppermint oil to apply after. Very nice experience.
We took the Southern Line day tour. All the attraction arrangements and the tour guide's explanations are very good and highly recommended. The first stop of the trip was to hike to Halla Mountain. The tour guide was 69 years old but he didn’t take a breath during the entire hike. He didn’t have to drink a sip of water. He was able to introduce Halla Mountain while walking. I really admired him. Because there is a shuttle bus, it is absolutely not a problem to visit multiple World Heritage sites in one day. After visiting a scenic spot, you can get on the bus and rest, so you won't feel tired. My favorite attraction of the whole day was the green tea farm cafe. Originally we were not very interested in this place, but the desserts and souvenirs here are definitely worth spending more time here. Because many tourists visit, it takes a lot of time to buy souvenirs and queue up to eat desserts. It would be better if more time can be allocated to this attraction. We recommend that everyone reserve time to queue up to buy green tea ice cream. The tour guide’s English explanation and physical fitness were top-notch, and he was also very enthusiastic to help us take photos.
We were contacted one day in advance of the waiting time and place and also our assigned driver (Paul). We were lucky to have a small group of 4 only, with another 2 ladies from Singapore too. Please take note that it is quite cool inside the Manjanggul lava cave, advised to bring a light outer wear. We had lunch at a local restaurant where the farmers around the place will go there for their lunch. Overall this tour covers the must visit beautiful places.
