[Kiyomizu-dera Temple] As one of the representatives of the World Cultural Heritage, [Kiyomizu-dera Temple] was built in 778 AD. It is the oldest temple in Kyoto and an important national treasure of Japan. Climbing the Kiyomizu Stage, you can overlook the cityscape of Kyoto and feel refreshed. The [Jishu Shrine] on the north side of the main hall is famous for praying for good marriage and love luck, and it is a romantic holy place that lovers and believers must visit. (Please take care of the worship fee at your own expense)
[Ninen-zaka and Sannen-zaka] Located in the hillside area around Kiyomizu-dera Temple, it is an excellent place to experience the ancient charm of Kyoto. It is designated as a “Preservation District for Important Traditional Buildings in Japan”. The stone-paved roads are lined with quaint wooden townhouses, Japanese-style shops, and tea houses, selling various Kyoto snacks, paper fans, dolls, chopsticks, and other handicrafts, making people linger.
(Lunch can be taken care of by yourself, feel free to taste authentic Kyoto cuisine, stroll through the ancient streets, and take photos of your own Kyoto style.)
In the afternoon, go to [Fushimi Inari Taisha Shrine] (stay for about 70 minutes, free activities) [Fushimi Inari Taisha Shrine], which has thousands of vermilion torii gates, is the head office of Inari Shrine in Japan and is known as one of the most popular Japanese attractions for foreign tourists. The continuous “Senbon Torii” forms a dreamlike red passage, which is the most representative symbol of Kyoto. The ema here is characterized by a white fox shape. Tourists can paint as they like and pray for happiness and peace.
[Nara Park] (stay for about 1.5 hours, free activities) Nara Park is located at the foot of Mount Wakakusa and is the most representative urban park in Nara. The autumn leaves and evergreens in the park complement each other, and the scenery is beautiful in all seasons. Groups of sika deer walk freely and are regarded as “messengers of gods”, interacting closely with tourists. You can buy deer crackers to feed them, but be careful of the playful deer’s enthusiastic “siege”!
[Todai-ji Temple] (Please take care of the admission fee) Also known as “Daihuayan Temple”, it was built in 752 AD by Emperor Shomu to enshrine the Rushana Buddha. It is the head temple of the Huayan sect in Japan. Although it has been damaged by fire, it still maintains its magnificent momentum after being rebuilt in 1692. The main hall, “Daibutsuden”, is 57 meters wide and 50 meters deep, making it one of the largest wooden buildings in the world. Inside, a 15-meter-high golden Buddha is enshrined, which is solemn and shocking. The temple also preserves important historical buildings such as Nandaimon, Nigatsudo, and Sangatsudo.
