One-day tour of Mount Hua from Xi'an

We came to Xi'an, China for a trip with our parents, and the Mt. Huashan day tour is something we will never forget for the rest of our lives! We took the cable car up and hiked down the West Peak to North Peak route. It was more thrilling than any scary amusement park ride, and the scenery looking down from Mt. Huashan simply cannot be captured in photos or words! Make sure to visit while you are still young, though please note that the difficulty level is quite high!

this is good for elders or with kids that you cannot climb much but still want to enjoy the scenery. very easy cable car up and down. well paved, however the signage not very clear but you can ask the locals. this route you can see the west/ south/ east/ centre peak. but again you can decide or just only the west peak. but note that even if you have completed trip. the internal transfer bus, will need to wait for enough people before they set off for your transfer to the bus to return to city. my gf took this route due to health reasons. she ended almost the same time of probably an hr earlier than us back to city. she had enjoyed and a nice one.

driver is on time and well organised. for the tour booked, had a mixture of tourist, local and English/ non mandarin speakers tourist, the guide that we have, have limited English speaking abilities, not sure why the tourists are mixed. we reach Hua Shan about almost noon after settling all the tickets etc (guide says due to a lot of foreigners, hence delayed) we manage to finish the 5 peaks (honestly very rushed) as we had to catch the return buses, take some pictures along the way. not to forget upon reaching the base? we still need to catch a internal bus before reaching the bus to return to city. (do plan your time well) overall still a nice experience if we had more time to and pace out the hike. well paved and there’s snacks/ souvenirs shops and toilets can be found along the peaks. suggest to self pack snacks/ food is easier, unless you have the luxury of time. have enjoyed, thank you.

convenient pick location near our hotel and drop off location near Bell Tower. Zem was clear and patient in providing instructions. he provided a lot of information on Huashan and was constantly communicating with our group via WeChat. the views from Huashan was stunning and breathtaking.

Mount Hua is a must-see when you're in the area. Our guide, Zem, was very thoughtful and gave us a lot of information about our itinerary (ascending from the west and descending from the north). The weather can be unpredictable, but we loved the cloudy and slightly rainy atmosphere, which didn't detract from the charm of one of China's most famous mountains. By booking with Klook, you get breakfast and lunch included, plus a small magnet to take home. We highly recommend it! 😊

pick up was a bit chaotic as there was only a Chinese guide. but then we stopped at a second gathering spot in Xi’an where there was an English guide. he explained the trails etc. going up west and going down north is the easiest way, as it’s mostly down hill. any moderate fit person can do it. they provide small lunch and small breakfast. they did have us pay an extra 50yuan for a gps and insurance they said. as it’s just a guide for the transfer to the mountain and you do the hike by yourself nobody gave tips at the end.

Unforgettable day trip from Xi'an—stunning scenery and top-notch organization! Visiting Mount Huashan was hands-down one of the highlights of my trip to China! The vertical granite peaks and dramatic cliffside views are even more breathtaking in person than in photos. A huge shoutout to our guide, Zem! Even though he didn't hike up the mountain with us, his incredible organization made the day completely stress-free. He seamlessly coordinated all our high-speed train tickets, shuttle buses, and cable car passes. Zem made sure we knew exactly where to go, what route to take, and where to meet him afterward, so we never felt lost for a single second.

Overall, the experience was good, but the pick-up and transfer took much longer than expected. Pick-up was at 7:15am, but after regrouping and reassigning passengers to different buses, we only reached the base around 10:30am. The tour company also promoted the XR experience, and everyone had to wait another 30 minutes before boarding the bus again for a 40-minute ride to the mid-mountain area, where we could continue by cable car to the peak. By the time we reached the cable car at around 12pm, quite a lot of time had already been spent on transfers and waiting. If you prefer to take your time, chill and enjoy the scenery, you’ll likely only have enough time to visit one peak, as there are queues almost everywhere.

Mount Hua is beautiful, worth the effort despite the climb and big crowd. Different options let customers choose how long to climb base on own ability. Service by the guide is commendable. she gave good explanation, with route photos and videos sent via WeChat. This package comes with GPS to communicate with guide if lost. Return bus is rolling basis, take whichever earliest bus back. As we climbed all 5 peaks, the guide waited for us to come down to take the last bus back.

Huashan mountain was beautiful and there really isn't enough time to appreciate all the surroundings 🥲 My tour guide crystal was really helpful! She gave clear directions on which route to take on the mountain, which i saw too late because of internet connection issues 😅 while the guide won't follow you up the mountain, they are very contactable and you can call them if you need help. Recommend to get the GPS device!
