"Shiraito Falls (白糸の滝)" is one of Karuizawa's representative natural attractions. Unlike ordinary, spectacular waterfalls that plunge straight down, this is a spring-fed waterfall with a height difference of only about 3 meters, yet it features an arc-shaped water curtain over 70 meters wide. The delicate streams of water fall like countless white threads, hence the name "Shiraito" (White Threads).
