Stop 1: Katsuoji Temple Known as the “Temple of Victory Luck,” it is famous in Japan for its thousands of bright red Daruma dolls. Daruma statues are scattered across the mountains, standing on mossy stones or hidden among maple trees. In autumn, the red leaves and vermilion Daruma intertwine to create a visually stunning picture. Inside the “Daruma Hall” hang giant Daruma dolls offered by worshippers as votive offerings. The “Daruma Waterfall” is hidden in the back mountain of the temple, and the path is lined with miniature Daruma, as if stepping into a fairy world.
Stop 2: Adashino Nenbutsu-ji Temple A moss-covered Buddhist land, the temple houses 1,200 stone Jizo statues with different expressions, standing quietly in a forest of century-old cedar trees and moss. Covered with moss and entangled with tree roots, they form an ethereal and mysterious “Jizo Forest.” Each Jizo has a unique expression, like a Buddhist version of the “Easter Island Statues.”
Stop 3: Arashiyama The elegant stage for the imperial court nobles, a world-class cultural landscape. Centered on the Hozugawa River Gorge, it combines the bamboo forest secret realm, ancient temples, geisha culture, and natural wonders. Cherry blossoms in spring and maple leaves in autumn adorn the scenery, making it a “textbook of Japanese aesthetics.”
- Tenryu-ji Temple: The Cao Yuan Chi Garden uses Arashiyama as a canvas, presenting the pinnacle of Zen "borrowed scenery garden."
- Bamboo Forest Path: The 500-meter bamboo path blocks out the sun, and the wind sounds like celestial music, once rated as one of the "Top Ten Most Beautiful Paths in the World."

Great day tour!!!! Mathew guided us really well. He guided us in both English and Mandarin. The timing was exceptionally well-maintained, and all attractions were covered according to the estimated schedule.
We are so glad we did this tour! My friends and I got to see the temples we wanted to visit. Love that we got to stay in Arashiyama for 3 hours and we had time to eat and shop around. I would definitely recommend this tour because a lot of these temples are far apart from each other.
The itinerary for the tour was well thought out with plenty of time for each stop. We went to the Daruma temple first and had 2 hours there which was more than enough time cause we were one of the first groups to get there at opening so it wasn’t crowded and we didn’t have to rush to take pictures. Our guide was Saul and while he primarily spoke Chinese, he also did the tour in English and had a bunch of great recommendations to give. He was super nice and friendly to talk to about anything. The transportation was a bit hot and cramped because we were a small tour group so they only had a van instead of a bus but overall very happy with the tour and what you get for the price! ( small note: make sure you have some small change to pay the entrance fee for the 2 temples, it’s not included in the tour. )
excellent tour but very lucky to get on the bus as took the chance to meet at the meeting point because we had no communication form the operator before after confirmation received by Klook. I had to go around the chaos and asked all the guides to find our names. otherwise we had a great day
Ethan was an amazing guide who made exploring Kyoto easy and enjoyable. He was punctual, cheerful, and very informative, especially when explaining the shrines and how to properly make wishes. He also shared plenty of food recommendations along the way — even though I didn’t get to try them, it was nice having the suggestions and knowing what to look out for. Overall, he made the experience relaxed, fun, and memorable.
Personally, I expected a bit more from this tour. I thought there will be a tour guide who will discuss history and some background of the places. This is basically just a service tour with driver who will drive you to the destinations. I personally think the time is very limited, especially in Kyoto. We left osaka around 8:20am already at meeting point, even though meet up was at 8am. meet up should have been earlier. The arashiyama tour, you will have to explore on your own with only 3 hours which already includes lunch time. you will have to squeeze in the time For first timers, this is a good tour but won't recommend if you have already visited osaka before.
Had a good experience at the 3 locations, it was a mundane day - rained the entire time but it added a beautiful winter-esque charm, however expected a little more description in terms of history. trusty Google came in handy. The last stop at Arishiyama was fantastic, would definitely visit again. All stops were self guided - ensure you have access to google maps and google translate!
Our guide was great, he took the initiative to to inform us each place where to go and what to do or places to eat. at the end of the trip, he went the extra mile to drop us near our hotel.

- [Regarding Driver/Guide Service] Driver-cum-guide service: Exquisite small groups of 4-13 people; Driver + guide service: Bus tours of 14-45 people. The actual arrangement will be adjusted according to the number of people in the tour group on the day. The driver-cum-guide primarily focuses on driving, with explanation as a secondary function.
- [Regarding Force Majeure] Depending on the daily traffic conditions, weather, holidays, and crowd influence, the arrival time of each itinerary may vary. In the event of the aforementioned or other force majeure factors, the tour guide has the right to adjust and reduce the itinerary on-site. The above vehicles are for reference only, and the actual arrangement will be adjusted according to the number of people in the tour group on the day.
- [Regarding Maple Leaves] Due to climate change, the time when maple leaves turn red may be earlier or later than expected. Once the tour is confirmed, refunds or complaints about the itinerary will not be accepted on the grounds that the maple leaves are not yet red. Please be aware of this.
- [Regarding Flower Season] Flower season conditions may be earlier or later than expected due to weather conditions that year. In this situation, no refund of tour fees will be given.
