What to expect
The Taoyuan Museum of Children’s Art, located in Qingpu, opened in 2024. It was designed by Japanese architect Riken Yamamoto, winner of the Pritzker Architecture Prize, and Taiwanese architect Shih Chao-yung. The design concept is “an amusement-oriented museum and a landscape-oriented building.” The triangular shape is the main structure, and the white base is combined with large areas of glass to introduce natural light, integrating the outdoor natural scenery into the children’s art museum to create a distinctive hillside art museum, forming a waterscape, greenery, and artistic landscape.
The Taoyuan Museum of Children's Art takes children's diverse art education as an important guideline for the development of the museum. Through planning and displaying art projects, developing aesthetic play equipment, creative art tutorials, and co-creation workshops, it promotes the development of art and aesthetic education, cultivates children's creativity, imagination, and action, explores and discovers themselves in art, and inspires children to have a broad vision of the world, universality, and the future.
