Departing from Kyushu Fukuoka | Aso Volcano & Kusasenri & Minami Aso Railway & Kumamoto Castle One-Day Tour (Optional Kumamoto drop-off)

Kumamoto Castle is an architectural marvel, and I took many photos from different angles, each one showcasing intricate details. I was really looking forward to seeing the crater at Mount Aso, but unfortunately, it was under a red alert, so I could only view the volcano, spewing black smoke, from a distance. It started raining when I was at Kusasenri, which is a very relaxing place with endless green fields – very therapeutic. The horses there were very robust.

The weather was great, and it was the peak cherry blossom season, making it incredibly enjoyable whether admiring the spring scenery or visiting the volcano and Kusasenri. Unfortunately, today the Mount Aso Nakadake crater was shrouded in smoke, preventing a close-up view. Our guide, Ms. Nanami, was fluent and enthusiastic in Chinese, Japanese, and English, and deserves high praise!

Tour guide Emily led well, although the weather was not good, but we were able to complete the entire booking trip, we can enjoy the beautiful scenery, no rain in Kumamoto Castle, can purchase inside to visit, to Aso volcano suddenly heavy rain, tour guide courteous reminder to wear enough clothes and bring a mask.

Our tour was canceled the day before due to road closures caused by heavy rain. The travel agency offered the option to cancel or reschedule, and we chose to reschedule for the next day. Luckily, the weather cooperated, and we ended up seeing the stunning views of the volcanic crater and the Kusasenri plains.

It must have been exhausting for Juju to speak in two languages. The tour service was good, but the 2-hour and 30-minute one-way trip from Fukuoka was a downside (it was incredibly tiring). The main drawback was that there wasn't anything particularly special to see given the travel time. I had high expectations for Kumamoto Castle, but it was smaller than I imagined, and there weren't any unique tourist attractions. Due to gas emissions from Mount Aso, we had to go to Kusasenri, but the Volcano Museum, with its outdated facilities, was a complete disappointment. Plus, it cost about 1,000 yen per person!

The tour guide speaks Chinese, Japanese, and Korean, switching between them effortlessly. They'll recommend the most beautiful photo spots and must-try local delicacies. Plus, they remember faces, so you don't have to worry about getting lost or missing the bus. Just be on time, and you're guaranteed a perfect and comfortable travel experience! I think it’s awesome! 👍🏻

The professional and meticulous tour guide gave us detailed explanations in Chinese, English, and Japanese. Coupled with a safe and technically excellent driver, I had a wonderful day. This itinerary is a must-do when visiting Fukuoka! 👍👍👍👍

Thank you to our guide, Chen, for his attentive leadership. Although the sightseeing time was a bit rushed due to traffic, being able to comfortably visit both Kumamoto Castle and Aso in a single day was definitely worth it. This is a great option for larger groups who prefer not to drive themselves. The travel time can be quite long, so be sure to bring a neck pillow and snacks!

This day trip was amazing! Our guide, Zheng, was fantastic throughout the entire day. The itinerary was perfectly planned, avoiding the crowds while still hitting all the must-see sights. His explanations were incredibly professional, effortlessly sharing historical stories and local customs that kept us entertained. He was also very attentive, always checking on everyone and quickly resolving any issues. Definitely a five-star experience! I'll be looking for Zheng again next time I visit.
