Xining Kumbum Monastery Private Half-Day Tour

At 9:00 AM, we will depart from your hotel in Xining city center to begin an in-depth tour of Tibetan Buddhist culture. Our first stop is Kumbum Monastery, one of the six great monasteries of the Gelug school of Tibetan Buddhism and the birthplace of Tsongkhapa. The golden roofs and red walls of the Buddhist halls shine in the morning light, and the exquisite butter sculptures, murals, and appliqués are known as the “Three Arts of Kumbum,” allowing you to experience the unique charm of Tibetan Buddhist art. Next, we will visit the Great Golden Tile Hall, the most important and holiest hall of Kumbum Monastery, which houses the silver stupa of Tsongkhapa. As sunlight streams through the golden roof into the hall, and prayer flags flutter gently, you will feel the intense religious atmosphere. Afterwards, we will proceed to the Small Golden Tile Hall to admire the colorful Buddhist murals, each of which tells an ancient Buddhist story. Around noon, we will arrive at the Eight Auspicious Stupas, eight white stupas arranged neatly in a row, symbolizing the Buddha’s eight great achievements. This is an excellent spot for taking photos and commemorating your visit. In the square in front of the stupas, you will often see devout believers circumambulating the stupas and praying for blessings. Finally, we will stroll through the Tibetan-style street around Kumbum Monastery and experience the unique ethnic atmosphere. Around 1:00 PM, we will conclude our tour and return to Xining. In this short half-day tour, you will have deeply experienced the essence of Tibetan Buddhist culture, leaving unforgettable cultural memories.
