I used it well for a day trip from Ito Station to Izukyu Shimoda. It was nice that the Shimoda Ropeway was included. You have to exchange the ticket at Ito Station or Izukyu Shimoda Station, but the exchange is not available before 9:00 AM, so I received a confirmation from the Ito Station ticket office and used it. I didn't have time to use the resort special train. It's not easy to ride the special train because it runs late in the morning (11:00 AM) and late in the afternoon (4:00 PM). Next time, I would like to try the resort train.
The 3-day Izukyu Rail Pass was absolutely ideal for our trip along the Izu Peninsula. The journey on the Izukyu Line, right along the sea, was a real highlight – including fantastic views of the coast, waves, and small coastal towns. The pass is easy to use, offers flexible hop-on and hop-off options, and makes exploring the region much more relaxed and affordable. Perfect for anyone who wants to make multiple stops along the coast without stress.
It's very useful. The price isn't super discounted, but it comes with a ropeway ticket near Shimoda Station, and the mountain scenery is great. Plus, due to weather causing itinerary changes, the three-day pass allows for more flexible departures.

It's very convenient to get to Izu-Kogen from Tokyo Station, it's direct. This train is also the fastest.
The pass itself is really useful to travel along Izukyu line. However, I don’t understand why they don’t let people to get the pass at Ito station, even though Ito station is the start point of Izukyu line. And it costs extra money to ride to some other station to get the pass.
If you're traveling to Minamiizu, a one-day pass is indeed cheaper than simply tapping your IC card for transportation, and the scenery in Minamiizu is quite beautiful.
