What to expect
Tour Description This tour is a guided tour led by a dedicated guide, taking travelers to broadly understand the culture, spirituality, artistry, and volcano-related attractions of the Aso region.
First, you will visit Aso Shrine, which has a history of over 2,000 years, and then stroll to Monzen Town, full of nostalgic charm, sampling the spring water from the Monzen Suikyo (water bases) of different stores and exploring Aso's delicious sweets. Then head to the summit of Mount Aso to peek into the sacred center of the sacred mountain.
Finally, you will arrive at Kamishikimi Kumanoza Shrine, filled with a mysterious atmosphere. Countless stone lanterns line both sides of the long stone staircase approach, as if leading people into an otherworldly realm beyond reality. Every step here is filled with tranquility and solemnity, making people feel as if they are in the stage of mythological legends.

First off, even though I don't speak Japanese, the guide communicated with me using a translator, so I didn't feel burdened! (Of course, it's even better if you can understand and speak even a little bit!) The guide explained the Aso area very well and adjusted the schedule to meet the needs of my family, allowing us to experience Aso in a variety of ways! Plus, they made us feel so comfortable, it was like having a friend show us around their neighborhood.
