Reviews summaryAmazing experience with the team of 3 (2 guides + driver) led a bus group of 49pax, all public signed ups. Interesting to note that none of the 3 are Norwegian. ;). What’s more important is that they know where to take us to catch Ms Aurora dancing! All pictures are captured by iPhone 16. This is my 3rd time seeing Northern lights (1st Iceland, 2nd Finland), Tromso’s experience is hands down! Breathtaking!
The meeting point is in the city center. Even if you don't live nearby, there are buses to get there. On the return trip, you can choose to get off at the Arctic Cathedral to facilitate other tourists. Because there were so many participants, we were picked up by a tourist bus. The weather was good that day and there were many aurora activities, so we drove for an hour to a snowy field, and then we were free to take photos. The tour guide has a professional camera to help take photos, but you have to pay if you want photos. The photos will be on the website for one year, and you can choose not to buy them. It's NOK290 per photo. The more you buy, the cheaper it is. If you buy more than 9 photos, each photo is half price. If you don't want to spend money, it's best to bring all the equipment. The tour guide knows a lot about the aurora and will find the best place according to the weather and aurora activity, but the amount of aurora depends on luck. I was lucky that night and the aurora directly illuminated the snow. Unfortunately, I only had a mobile phone and no tripod.
Very good, the weather is the best in the month, because there was aurora when we set off, so we took us to a dark place not far away to see it, it was beautiful
Our guide was very knowledgeable in the Aurora Borealis. She is also very decisive on the location to view even though it had to be far away. But at a poor weather condition, we were still able to view fab northern lights! it’s incredible
we managed to find Aurora Activity, it was magnificent! The tour guide make sure to list out the possible places and tiem to make sure that we can experience the activity. They were really helpful on guiding how to shoot using phones or any camera! we got hot drinks and biscuits too.
Very satisfied with this trip. We started heading home around 8 or 9 PM, because we had already encountered a huge aurora explosion when we started chasing it at 6 PM. The tour guide was also very gentle and respectful of everyone's opinions.
if you dont have time just book it and you’ll get guided on how to capture the northen lights.
It was absolutely fantastic. I was worried I wouldn't be able to see anything because of the heavy rain and wind throughout the trip, but I don't know how you found such great spots. I went on this trip to see the aurora, and thanks to you, I achieved my goal. I love it so much, I'll definitely book again next time I come.
Nice trip, had a good time!
Basically, they drive you around in a bus to see the Northern Lights. In principle, this money is just for the bus fare, which feels a bit expensive. Taking a boat at least gives you the feeling of enjoying a boat trip and there's scenery to see, but for a pure bus ticket, it's really quite expensive, even though the tour guide explains a little about the Northern Lights on the bus. Also, every time you get off the bus, your seat gets taken, so you're basically constantly changing seats and looking for a seat, which is a bit annoying, but the weather was good that day and we saw a lot of Northern Lights.
