Northern Alps Scenic View - Kamikochi Day Trip: Kappa Bridge, Taisho Pond, Azusa River Light Hike (Round trip from Nagoya)

Tour absolutely worth visiting, the time is limited and not enough to visid everything unless you walk very fast without breaks... But the place is stunning even on a basik route. Guide Han spoke really good English and explained all important information and gave useful recommendations.

This is the most scenic place I've been. The weather was just nice for a leisurely hike. Temperature hovers around 18 degree celsius in early June and I didn't even break a sweat throughout the 3hrs hike. For those who wants to visit the Myojin shrine from the starting point at Taisho pond, do hasten your pace as there will just be enough time to finish the route back to to the bus terminal, without much time for lunch. For those who just want to take it easy, its recommended to stop at Kappa bridge which takes about 1.5h from starting point. Most of the scenic spots are from Taisho to Kappa bridge. It's the one place that you'll want to visit in every season.

the most beautiful place I have been to in Japan. the beginner/first time visitor trek allotted 1.5hrs is more than enough time to take photos/videos along the ways and reach the Bridge where restaurants are. you can have lunch here. try the apple pie and apple ice cream.

Located in Chubu Sangaku National Park at an elevation of 1,500 meters, the valley features flat, well-maintained paths and wooden boardwalks winding through lush forests and along the crystal-clear Azusa River. The best beginner-friendly route is the gentle 4 km trail from Taisho Pond to the iconic Kappa Bridge. Taking about 1.5 to 2 hours at a relaxed pace, this flat walk provides continuous views of the soaring Hotaka Mountain Range, serene wetlands at Tashiro Pond, and historic spots like the Weston Monument. Food options and cafeterias around Kappa Bridge tend to be expensive and packed with long lines. A great way to save money and enjoy the atmosphere is to pack onigiri, sandwiches, and drinks beforehand. Numerous wooden tables and picnic spots are located along the trail, offering a scenic outdoor lunch with peak views.

Kamikochi – often called "the homeland of the gods" by the Japanese, and a place you should visit once in your lifetime. When planning this trip to Japan, I specifically started the journey from Nagoya to visit Kamikochi, taking a day trip via Klook to reach Kamikochi in Nagano Prefecture. The day before in Nagoya, it was raining, and I was worried that the weather in the mountains today wouldn't be great. But as soon as I got off the bus, I was shocked and moved by the beautiful scenery before my eyes. A cool breeze and comfortable sunshine poured down, with the Hotaka mountain range standing majestically in front of me. The waters of Taisho Pond and the Azusa River sparkled in the sunlight. While hiking towards Kappa Bridge, it felt like time had slowed down at this moment— leaving only my heartbeat, breathing, and the distant chirping of birds. Very nice trip - quite a long journey to get there and back. Lovely scenery and a little cooler (marginally!) than the 35C in the cities. Our guide Yukino was superb! She gave all the information very clearly in both Mandarin and English and ensured that we were all informed via WhatsApp during the visit. Yukino was also very helpful for individual questions.

There's a bus shuttle, which is great for a stroll around Kamikochi. You don't have to walk far to see some incredibly beautiful scenery. However, if you want to walk all the way to Hotaka Okumiya, it's too rushed. If you could stay for 4 hours, it would be more accommodating for those who wish to complete the entire route.

A happy, relaxing and nature-filled day. The tour guide Liu Mei was very attentive and considerate. She introduced the hiking route to each member of the group and paid attention to the needs of different people. It is a group worth participating in. Of course, the scenery is also very beautiful.
