Bukhansan National Park: The Summit Course
- Conquer the highest peak in Seoul (836 m / 2743 ft) with our hiking tours
- Experience breathtaking views and enjoy lunch after the hike (optional)
- Secret Shortcut: Save 2 hours.
- You should be able to climb stairs for at least 5 minutes continuously without a break. IF you are not sure, try it!
What to expect
Located on the boundary of Seoul, Bukhansan national park is one of the most iconic hiking spots in Seoul.
With research, I came up with the simplest route. We will only need 4 hours instead of the normal 6 hours, while still conquering the summit.
The ascending part of the hike will have an elevation change of 600 meters (2,000 ft) within 2.1 km (1.3 miles) which normally takes around 100~120 minutes. You will need to be able to climb stairs for at least 5 minutes continuously without a break. IF you are not sure, try it!
The highlight, Baek-un-dae peak, will require some amount of 25~45 degree-angle climbing, always aided by ropes.
(Optional. 9000~15000 KRW for lunch) After hike, we will eat at a place specializing in tofu dishes. They have meat too! (Vegan/vegetarian friendly)

Jiyoung is a great tour guide. I unfortunatley injured my finger during the hike, and she was attentive in helping me tend to the wound. The trek was more challenging than I had anticipated, but the breathtaking views made it all worth it.
The guid was very kind and we had a lot of fun ! I really recommend to bring good shoes and also be prepared because there is a part of the path that can be steep. It was very cloudy so we couldn’t see that much however the weather at the end became amazing ! It was. y far my best adventure I’ve ever experienced here in Korea !
Signed up for this hike by myself, and it’s really worth it! The total hike is around 4hrs, and our pace is quite slow, so if you excersize regularly, it should be fine for you. And just keep in mind that the meet up point is quite far from downtown, and for my trip on Saturday, the meet up time is 7AM. 導遊:My guide Dajeong is awesome!! She’s fun, outgoing, and familiar with the route. I was late that morning, but she’s very patient and helpful to me! Big thanks!
Our guide, Jiyoung, is fluent in English. Even if you don't speak English, and your hiking and Korean language skills are beginner level, the guide is very kind and supportive. It's perfectly fine to go alone. I highly recommend this for your first international hiking experience. If you have the WhatsApp app, you can contact them even without a phone number. The area near the summit has slippery rocks, so be sure to bring shoes with good grip! The view from the summit is amazing. You can even experience the classic post-hike makgeolli and bindae-tteok!
Jinyoung is such a nice tour guide. Our hike was around 4 hours, very durable even for people with low fitness level. After the tour she took us to the restaurant with great Korean food too!
most of the hike is a continuous incline. i realy thought i wouldn’t make it to the summit. but Jiyoung, our guide, was really helpful and supportive. walked our paced and with us all through hike
I had an amazing private hiking experience at Bukhansan thanks to Jiyoung. She was friendly, professional, and very knowledgeable about the mountain, trails, and local history. Since it was just the two of us, she tailored the pace perfectly to suit me and made sure I felt safe and comfortable throughout the hike. Her positive energy and encouragement really helped during the more challenging sections. She also knew the best viewpoints and photo spots, which made the experience even more memorable. I highly recommend Jiyoung to anyone looking for a fun, safe, and personalized Bukhansan hiking experience!
guide Jiyoung is super supporting and motivating. The feeling of accomplishment is wonderful. The kimchi toufu & mungbean pancake lunch after the hike is yummy too. Thank you.
A great hike follow by authentic korean tofu lunch. Jiyoung make sure the 5 of us are able to catch up and have ample rest time. She also make sure we follow the right path and are safe throughout.
The trail was challenging but very rewarding. I’m glad I went with this group to help organize getting to the trail and just a general guide the whole way. It was beautiful views and fun experience.
