This time, I traveled alone to Jeju, and on the last five days of my trip, today had the best weather. So, I spontaneously booked a one-day tour of the southern region. I was a little worried about how to get in touch, but the day before, I received an email from our guide, Choi, confirming contact details. When I got on the bus today, I noticed most of the passengers were foreigners. Choi asked the few people from Taiwan if an English-speaking guide would be okay, and everyone agreed. It was a good chance for me to practice my listening skills. Thank you, Choi, for introducing us to the Korean alphabet, Korean soju (I've drunk it so many times, but this was the first time I learned the story behind the bottle cap), and Makgeolli (Jeju has an orange flavor) throughout the day. He also mentioned Taiwan's Gaoliang liquor (which made me proud) and introduced different varieties of oranges. I have asthma, so unfortunately, I don't eat oranges. Along the way, he described the scenery and every place we passed. I think he also mentioned horse oil for stretch marks, haha. The last stop on the itinerary was Hallasan Mountain. He encouraged me to hike, saying it was okay to come down early if I couldn't make it and that it was fine to be a little late for the meetup. I made an effort and went up the mountain, capturing beautiful scenery. We also visited Cheonjiyeon Falls, Jusangjeolli Cliff, the O'sulloc Tea Museum, and Oedolgae Rock. I had a delicious abalone and beef bone soup. This trip was very economical and had an excellent guide, Choi!
Thank you Peter for the whole day tour. He explained lots of Jeju Island's history that you do not usually find on internet. He also gave us plenty of time to explore around. I love the performance of 해녀 and the Hamdeok Beach(great timing to visit). It was a great trip.
Aside from the initial pickup delay and the inability to contact via LINE (only WeChat and WhatsApp were available, which could be concerning for Taiwanese travelers without these apps), we were quite worried about finding a contact person. We had to search for online customer service in Korea. Our scheduled pickup at the airport was 8:45 AM, and thankfully, at 8:53 AM, our guide for the day, Chloe, picked us up and got us onto the bus. Since we had taken a red-eye flight and hadn't checked into our accommodation yet, we were able to store our luggage in the bus's undercarriage, which was a great start to our day. The day's itinerary included: 1. Visiting the Sunrise Land to see the lava tubes at Manjanggul Cave. 2. Exploring Seongeup Folk Village, where a self-taught English-speaking Korean elder shared insights into the traditional life of Jeju islanders. 3. Enjoying a delicious meal at a restaurant recommended by the tour company (at our own expense). 4. Visiting Seongsan Ilchulbong Peak, where we watched the Haenyeo (female divers) show from the free left-side route and had the option to hike the paid right-side route to the summit (which can be quite challenging if you're not used to exercising). 5. Spending a leisurely afternoon at the beach, enjoying a coffee and listening to street performers. Our guide, Chloe, was incredibly professional, providing explanations in Chinese, Korean, and English throughout the tour. Her enthusiastic service to every traveler completely erased any lingering frustration from the morning's pickup delay due to traffic. For those who don't drive but want to visit the most essential attractions and have a place to store their luggage, I highly recommend this tour.
Our tour guide, Chole, was very friendly and attentive to everyone in the group. The tour bus seats were comfortable, and the driver was excellent 👍🏻. Seongsan Ilchulbong Peak was a long-awaited attraction, and the scenery was absolutely stunning. We were also lucky to have great weather and got to see the Haenyeo (sea women) performance 😍. Besides the caves, we were surprised to find the Sunrise Land park full of cherry blossoms and many orange trees, which made the whole experience very enjoyable 🥳.
I had an amazing experience exploring Jeju Island with this tour! The itinerary was well-organized, allowing us to visit some of the most iconic and beautiful spots on the island. From stunning waterfall to mountain, every moment was memorable. The tour guide Chole was very friendly, knowledgeable, and made the trip even more enjoyable with their insights and tips. Overall, it was a fantastic way to discover Jeju’s natural beauty and cultural richness. Highly recommend to anyone visiting Jeju.
The southwestern itinerary was wonderful! We easily ascended Hallasan 1100 Wetland to admire its natural beauty, then strolled along the coastline at Handam Coastal Walk, and finally relaxed at GD's cafe. Although it was a rainy day and the scenery was somewhat obscured, our guide, Chloe, thoughtfully adjusted the itinerary to minimize our exposure to the rain. The roads were slippery due to the rain, but our driver was very careful throughout the journey, ensuring we had a comfortable trip.
Chloe was such a cute and helpful guide! Her explanations and fun facts were really interesting and useful throughout the whole tour. I would definitely join another tour with her because everything was very well organized and the time given at each stop was perfect to explore everything properly. The places she brought us to were also absolutely beautiful. I highly recommend this tour with her, we were extremely satisfied with the experience!
I did a South and West Jeju tour today and really enjoyed the experience. It’s a great introduction to this part of the island, with interesting explanations about Jeju’s history, symbols, and culture. Chloe was a wonderful guide—very kind, helpful, and clear in her explanations. She also happily takes photos for you if you ask, which is really appreciated. As a solo traveler, this tour made it easy to visit several major spots without a car. I definitely wouldn’t have been able to see this much on my own. Highly recommended!
Mr. Choi was an excellent tour guide. the tour was a combination of nature and food trip. The trip was very enjoyable and relaxing. We enjoyed everything especially the information that Mr. Choi gave us during the trip. it’s an excellent tour experience. We love the wetlands and the tea museum. We greatly enjoyed the food in every stop.
Had a wonderful experience on this Jeju group tour! Our tour guide, Chloe, was very kind, informative, jolly, and energetic throughout the whole trip. She explained the places well and made the tour more fun and enjoyable for everyone. The itinerary was smooth, and we were able to see many beautiful spots in Jeju comfortably. Also highly recommended for solo travelers since it was easy to join and everyone felt welcomed. Definitely one of the best ways to explore Jeju!
