I feel very satisfied because I can experience so many things in one day. It takes 2.5 to 3 hours each way to go there on your own in the heat, so I recommend going on a tour. This time, when I tried to ride a train on the way, the train came quite late, so I guess I ran out of time, so I couldn't go to the museum and just looked at it from inside the bus. Another thing to note is that you will need cash at Marika City and Elephant Camp, so it is better to bring some cash with you. Also, the elephant bathing experience will get you quite wet, so we recommend bringing not only a swimsuit but also a towel.
The itinerary is rich, and you can visit many famous attractions in a short period of time: the railway to experience the style, the ancient city as a pastime and relaxation, and the elephant camp experience is the highlight of the itinerary, where you can get close contact with big and small elephants, and satisfy a variety of things at once. The package price is very reasonable. Although it was a bit of a quick tour and the time was running out, the tour guide gave a thorough explanation and was able to directly understand the history, culture and key points.
the transportation took almost 6 hours return, booking a tour is so much easier. it was a small group, the minivan was fine. the highligh was the elephant camp! worth to spend a day in Kanchanaburi! we went to all the spots and it was not too crowded which was great!
Good trip to visit bridge of Kwai river, and experience on the train. It's interested in playing with the elephant in the river. Little pity about low river volume, we dont have the floating.
Our guide, Dao, was very cheerful and we had a lot of fun talking to him! We were the only other participants from the Chinese region, so he even took the trouble to speak to us in English, which we were very grateful for. The other participants were also friendly, so I think it made the trip even more enjoyable. We learned about history, had fun with the elephants, and it was a great memory. However, at the end, I felt bad that the baby elephant's legs were chained, and I felt sorry for him. Also, if you participate in playing in the water with the elephants, we recommend that you bring a towel, a change of clothes, and a swimsuit. It's not a recommendation, but please bring it!
Great guide and Driver! Good experience and would recommend!
First of all, we really enjoyed the interior of the van. Hats off to the tour guide and driver for giving us a very informative and organized tour. Also gave us snacks on our stop to bridge over river kwai. We didn’t thought that the tour includes elephant riding but they (the elephants) seemed to be enjoying the activity also. One of them kept on swimming and bring my cousin into the water with him it was hilarious.
It was really fun. It would have been more fun if I spoke English well.
Excellent tour, this tour won't disappoint. Our guide was incredibly knowledgeable and gave us a fantastic day. We learned about history, culture and much more. Time and money well invested. Would really recommend.
Super worth it! Learned a lot from our guide and had so much fun meeting new people. The vehicle used was very comfortable and instructions where to meet up was clear. The elephants are well taken care of at the sanctuary and loved. It’s an experience we’ll never forget!
