GreatStayed with partner
We stayed in one of the older buildings which was great and had a unique feel to it. It did make controlling the temperature and ac a little trickier during the recent heatwave though. Bed was comfy and the bathroom was clean with a decent shower.

Good The pool was small and was untidy with discarded towels around the side. The shower in the pool area had a large clump of hair on the shampoo dispenser.
At the time of our visit, there was a wedding party and the bar staff were more interested in serving the gentleman at the bar. After getting my order wrong, I was told my order would be brought to my table. It wasn't so I returned to the bar. I was told I would have to wait until the "other" people at the bar were served.
The "hot" items from the breakfast buffet were luke warm and when requesting a pot of tea for two, we received tea for one, on both Mornings.
The air conditioning in the room didn't work.

FantasticStayed with partner
Nice room overlooking the garden towards the river, first floor with balcony and table and chairs, nice rain shower and products but we were v grateful for the toothpaste/kits at reception as we’d left ours and for the late checkout. Decent tea/coffee/biscuits in the room All the staff we spoke with at reception and breakfast were friendly and helpful. Breakfast was excellent- great fresh fruits in particular and toast-/avocado. Some of the grounds need care and attention - I’m all for rewilding but the space isn’t being managed properly ;and a sign for the footpath to the river would have been useful! Front of the property is well maintained - beautiful roses. Didn’t have time to use the gym or pool unfortunately; seems dog and child friendly so would hope to visit again in future. We did have a nice walk along the Thames path to Iffley and watched the rowing.

Below averageStayed with partner
We stayed at this hotel expecting a true 4-star experience, but unfortunately, it did not meet those standards, especially considering the price of £309 per night.
The room lacked basic amenities usually expected in a 4-star hotel, such as bathrobes, slippers, and a coffee machine. The low ceilings made the room feel quite cramped, and the pillows were very uncomfortable. The bathroom design was also not ideal, with a glass bathroom door located right next to the bed, offering very little privacy.
In addition, the shower had very low water pressure, and the room had a very strong bleach smell throughout our stay, which made it uncomfortable.
Overall, the hotel felt overpriced for what was offered, and the advertising was somewhat misleading compared to the experience. Staff were polite, but the accommodation itself did not justify the cost.

Absolutely love this place. Second stay here and the staff is super friendly and accommodating. Emily at front desk goes over and beyond to help with anything we ask. Rooms are clean, bed sleeps great, AC works great, rare find worth staying. Close to the bus stop for travel into the city. Spacious parking. Only regret is we didn’t stay longer.

The hotel is nice, and the rooms are comfy and clean. The property has a nice character.
The downsides are the rooms are very noisy and walls are paper thin.
The wifi threw you off every 10 to 15 mins for our entire stay.
Even when not busy it took nearly 10 mins to be served at the bar.
The hotel did apologise for some of the issues and give a voucher, but regreattbly it didn't solve the wifi issue or the fact it was even noisier the next night.
