Unsafe, Misrepresented, and Uninhabitable: Do not book this property. After checking other reviews afterward, it seems my experience was part of a pattern, not a one-off. After a long journey to Inverness, my wife and I arrived exhausted and ready to check in. What we found instead was alarming. There was visible drug activity happening directly outside the building and in the hallway. I shouldn’t need to photograph that to “prove” it happened. We couldn’t even get into our room because no door code was provided at check-in. We sat waiting in what the listing’s photos implied was a private kitchen — it’s actually a shared communal area. That’s not a minor omission; it’s a misrepresentation of the space. When we finally got in, the room smelled overwhelmingly of cat — musty and stale. I have cat allergies, and you can’t photograph a smell. The bed was also visibly sunken and broken, making it unusable for anyone with back issues. We were in the room for only a couple of minutes and on the premises for about 15, trying to make it work because we had nowhere else to go that late at night. Avoid this place entirely.

Good

Solo stay

The bedroom was clean and nicely organized. It was a quiet room with no noticeable sounds coming from the outside areas. There was plenty of natural light from the one window. The bathroom was small, but efficient. Two items need addressing... the bed needs to be replaced immediately! It slanted off to both sides and was very uncomfortable. The second is the poor internet connection within the room. It constantly went in and out over the days I stayed.

The location was really central and lovely, Though the bar across the street is a bit noisy at night. It didn't bother us too much but if you're a really light sleeper it might be annoying. Check in was pretty smooth. We had the door code upon check-in but it took about 20 minutes for them to respond with our room code, which was a bit of a pain. We couldn't get into the room till 3:30pm. 30 mins after check in time. All in all we had a very comfortable stay in beautiful Inverness.

The communal kitchen was wonderful. The bathroom was problematic. The sink was nearly impossible to use - tiny and there was a shelf just above the sink that impeded access to the sink. So there was a lot of splashing water!

Great
We chose the place for location. I’d give it the equivalent of a three star hotel as far as accommodations. Everything was clean and usable. The location was a plus and a minus with quite a few sketchy characters hanging around. While we knew it was a walk up, this turned out to be a major inconvenience. We even packed small bags and back packs and it was still a chore getting up to the top floor. We really didn’t see anyone else staying there with exception to one elderly guest leaving one morning. Overall a four star but would not stay again. A more traditional hotel would have felt a bit more comfortable. Also, be aware - none of the coffee shops in proximity open early- 8am and after!
