About High-Speed Rail

Hong Kong High-Speed Rail (Guangzhou-Shenzhen-Hong Kong Express Rail Link) connects Hong Kong West Kowloon Station with the country's vast high-speed rail network, spanning approximately 26 kilometers and reaching speeds of up to 200 km/h. Once entering the mainland section, speeds can soar to as much as 350 km/h. Whether for business trips or leisure travel, Hong Kong High-Speed Rail is the fastest, most comfortable, and convenient transportation option for traveling between Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Shanghai, Beijing and other destinations.

The high-speed train departs from West Kowloon Station and takes only about 14 minutes to reach Shenzhen and around 48 minutes to arrive at Guangzhou, giving you more time to immerse yourself in local sightseeing and activities. Additionally, West Kowloon Station implements "co-location," allowing travelers to complete both Hong Kong's and Mainland China's immigration procedures within the same station significantly reducing crossing times.

The design of the high-speed train carriages balances comfort with practicality by offering economical Second Class seats along with more spaciously comfortable First Class seats. The trains are equipped with adjustable seat backs and charging sockets among other amenities ensuring that even while speeding through your journey you can enjoy a relaxed experience.

Hong Kong West kowloon highspeed railway is quite convenient! Due to hong kong airport is very far away from China, it is good to have Hong Kong West kowloon highspeed railway as its conveniency. I tried other normal bus and it takes more than 170mins to arrive home. Anyway, Hong Kong West kowloon highspeed railway a speedy option! Definitely, it is good for ppl who does not want to wait for a long transportation time.

Travelling on HSR is highly recommended. Very smooth check-in and boarding. Klook booking process is simple and hassel free too. The only challenge is not always able to fill the order. However that's an inherent issue with China HSR booking process. It would help if Klook booking process to allow 2nd and 3rd alternative to increase chance of successful booking.

Smooth ride back to Hong Kong Kowloon Station using the HSR. Make sure you go at least 1.5 hours earlier for customs check for both China and HK plus bag checks. Recommend to bring your own food for the ride.

Hong Kong West Kowloon - Guangzhoudong ·
A very smooth experience from HK to Guangzhou. Head to Kowloon Station then walk about 10 min through a mall to Kowloon West Station. Go through 3 rounds of checking / customs from HK and China. The whole process took about an hour so make sure to be at the station about 1.5 hours before departure time to be safe. There are eateries before customs check but once you go pass customs check, there’s no more food so either eat beforehand of bring your own food. Worst case they do serve food and drinks on the train at a price. First class was very comfortable. Seats were 2-2 and we could access the first class lounge while waiting for the train. Would recommend paying extra if you can for the first class seats.

Easy and fuss free train service. The clearance from Guangzhou East station for Singaporeans only took us 5min so don’t need to be down so early (unlike the 1.5h stated on Klook). You are only allowed to board the train 15 min before departure time, so we waited at least 1h+ at the station.

Guangzhou station is a big area so buffer enough time for security and ticketing, as foreign passports can’t be read at the machines so the staff will have to manually check your ID. also it seems that the gates to the platform don’t open until 15mins till departure resulting in a mad rush.

The station was huge and plenty of eatery. 2 bottles of my hair spray was confiscated because it exceed their train requirement of no more than 150ml. So ladies and gentlemen take note of this changes. The train parked quite far away. Advise to get into the train waiting area slightly earlier else it will be a long running like us. And the train leaving on time. Good experience as always for China high speed rail.

Easy transfer from Futian Metro Station to Futian HSR Station, just follow the sign. The problem we face is that we bought 4 tickets and I’m the lead traveller, I was able to pass thru the HSR gate with no problems but my family members all have problem entering the gate even though we booked under 1 booking reference no. Not sure what what wrong, but staff at the station help us. So all is well and we get to board the train to HK. Please allow more time and go to the train station early.

Booked one day before the trip and it was approved instantly. Just reach Futian half a hour earlier to go through bag checks and document checks. The train can be boarded 15 mins earlier before it departs. Smooth process👍🚉
