Things to do in Amsterdam

We visited the 3 places and feel that there was not enough time given to Zaanse Schans. There was a presentation at each of the locations but due to photo opportunities at Zaanse Schans windmills, there was not enough time to visit the shops for sounvenirs. Would suggest to cutback time at Volendam as there was more than enough time to take lunch and visit the shops. Although Marken itself is interesting, there is not much to see while taking the boat from Volendam to Marken. Truly enjoyed the tour and is highly recommend.

Peter was a really wonderful tour guide and driver! He provides every little info we needed to know about the tour and the location. During our 4 hours of bus round trip, he didn’t rest at all but kept providing us useful info with soft and low voice which are perfect for both those who want to listen and rest at the same time!

It was a nice tour. worth every penny. I just wished the aircon was colder and not set to 22°C.

Had a great time at the canal cruise. It’s a must to do when in Amsterdam. The cruise guide explained and pointed out what to watch out for. The meet up location is easy to find.

we discovered after booking on Klook we’d paid €5 pp more than if we’d walked up to the kiosk and purchased tickets. the 10am and 10:15 time slots are not busy, optimal timing of the day

Locals keep advising us that we need to book Van Gogh tickets a month before our arrival. Klook make it quick and easy. We booked a day prior and still got a timeslot for 2 pax. Museum was worth it, recommend to purchase an audio tour.

It was so much fun learning how Heineken started and how they brew their beer! The factory is massive, and the interactive activities inside make the experience even more enjoyable. The beer itself tastes so much better here than in other parts of the world, fresh, smooth, and truly authentic.

I am not a museum person but I really learned a lot visiting the Rijksmuseum. Dont miss this when you visit amsterdam

Tickets and tour vouchers were easily obtained. The station staff directed us to Platform B to wait for the tour guide to lead us onto the bus. Sitting upstairs on the double-decker bus provided a better view for the journey. The first stop was Afsluitdijk for a brief 30-minute stay, to learn about the Dutch dam engineering technology that balances the separation of sea and land. The second stop was Giethoorn, first with a traditional 1-hour boat ride, followed by a very generous 2.5 hours of free time to stroll along the small bridges and waterways. Overall, a very satisfying experience, recommended for travelers who don't want to go on their own but want to spend more time in Giethoorn.
