Out of this world destinations that actually exist!

If you’ve already watched The Croods: A New Age, then you can agree that the entire film was a feast for the eyes! From start to finish, the animated film transported us worlds away, allowing audiences to travel virtually from our theatre seats.
But if you thought these crazy imaginative locations were too ‘out of this world’ to even be real - we put together a list of 11 destinations that’ll make you think otherwise.
SPOILER ALERT: This article contains spoilers from the movie. If you haven’t seen the film, be sure to pre-book The Croods: A New Age tickets on Klook today to waive your online booking fee!

    1. Singapore

Does this scene not remind you of Gardens By The Bay? While visitors won’t exactly find overgrown fruits inside the Flower Dome, they’ll surely set their sights on some of the most colourful and beautiful flora and fauna known to man!

    2. Plitvice Falls National Park, Croatia

We can’t be the only ones truly in awe of the film’s main location! Although we can’t say for sure if it was loosely based on a real destination, we think it exhibits many beautiful similarities to the Plitvice Falls National Park in Croatia. Either way, both are beautiful in their own right!

    3. Coron, Philippines

Before screen time there was window time, and during one of Thunk’s window watching scenes, we spotted a familiar sight in the background. Could it be Coron, Palawan’s famous limestone cliffs? We’d like to think so!

    4. Valley of Flowers, India

You’d think it would be impossible to come across anything this vibrant and colourful in real life - but the Valley of Flowers in India will make you realize how wrong you were! Though it probably doesn’t have the same peculiarities as the Betterman’s front lawn, it sure is just as jaw-dropping.

    5.Mendenhall Caves, Alaska

First off, we don’t want anyone going into a cave this spooky or dangerous, but we do have to admit that this scene was quite the visual treat! While we hope we never come across a place this terrifying, the Mendenhall Caves in Alaska offers a similar look and feel (minus the fear factor).

    6. Antelope Canyon, Arizona, USA

In the scene where Eep and Dawn leap across the wall, audiences see a colourful arrangement of pink and red hues on the screen reminiscent of Arizona’s Antelope Canyon in the United States.
If it isn’t already, this popular tourist attraction should be on your bucket list. Trust us when we say you’ll be in awe of this out of this world destination.

    7. Ka Bru Forest, Brazil

The Betterman’s treehouse is basically our childhood dream come true! You’d be surprised to know that there are many treehouse accommodations around the world but one we think reminds us most of Phil, Hope, and Dawn’s home is the Ka Bru Forest Villa in Brazil. Completely engulfed in nature, you’re sure to have a serene retreat here!

    8. Kuang Si Falls, Laos

We haven’t met a single waterfall we didn’t like, but Kuang Si Falls in Laos brings out joyous emotions we can’t even name. It reminds us plenty of the majestic falls in the film and we’re having a difficult time believing something like this actually exists!

    9. Zhangjiajie National Park, China

As if the landsharks weren’t scary enough, the creators of The Croods: A New Age coupled it with an equally terrifying setting - one that reminded us of the Zhangjiajie National Park in China. Don’t get us wrong - the national park is absolutely stunning, but we’ll take in the sights from a distance, thank you!

    10. Giants Causeway, Northern Ireland

This scene in the sequel reminded us of Giant’s Causeway in Northern Ireland! This seaside destination is unlike any other place we’ve ever seen. It’s made up of over 40,000 black basalt columns that stick out from under the sea, moulding one of the world’s most stunning natural wonders.

    11. Panjin Red Beach, China

If you thought this setting in the film was absolutely unrealistic, we’re here to tell you otherwise. Presenting: the Panjin Red Beach in China. From any angle, you’ll be blessed with sights of endless red fields - a sight even we couldn’t have ever imagined to be real.
