If you’re wondering what a Dalgona Coffee is, it is originally from South Korea and what you could say is a reverse latte where the steamed milk is replaced by frothed coffee and coffee is replaced by iced milk. 

Dalgona is a popular Korean street candy similar to toffee or honeycomb but its caffeinated version is what has been trending across social media platforms which you can easily do with only 3 ingredients: instant coffee, sugar, and milk. However, we understand not everyone is fond of caffeine so we have three caffeine-free recipes too that you might want to try out! 

Original Dalgona Coffee Recipe

What You Need: 

  • 2 tbsp of instant coffee powder

  • 2 tbsp white sugar

  • 2 tbsp hot water

  • Milk

What You Need: 

  • 1 tsp matcha powder

  • 1 egg white

  • ¼ cup white sugar

  • ¼ cup water

  • Milk 

  • Ice

How To Do It:

  1. Beat the egg white until it becomes frothy then fluffy. You can use an electric mixer to achieve this faster. 

  2. Combine the water and white sugar and put on low heat. Let the syrup simmer for 5 minutes without stirring. 

  3. Slowly drizzle the syrup into the beaten egg white while mixing until the mixture turns fluffy and glossy.

  4. Add the matcha powder into the mixture until blended and smooth.
