Why April is the BEST time to visit Korea
Cherry blossom season in Seoul typically peaks between early to mid-April, transforming the city into soft pink dreamscapes, making it the best time to visit Korea for spring!
During this period, you’ll see:
- Full bloom cherry blossom trees across the city 🏙️
- Petal-filled streets and parks 🌸
- Scenic riverside and lake views 🌅
✨ Bonus: The days just after peak bloom (when petals fall) are often the most beautiful for photos. AND Your concert dates fall right within peak bloom → petal fall season
(which is honestly the most aesthetic phase)!

Day 1 — Chill Seoul Vibes & Yeouido Cherry Blossoms
Day 1 is all about easing into Seoul with a relaxed start - whether you've just arrived in the morning or the previous night.
Seongsu-dong Cafes
Begin your day by exploring the trendy cafés in Seongsu-dong. Known as Seoul’s “Brooklyn,” this district is full of trendy coffee shops, photo spots, and quiet streets — perfect for a low-key first day after your flight!
Yeouido Hangang Park
Once you've gotten your caffeine fix, head to Yeouido Hangang Park for your first cherry blossom experience! Yeouido is home to one of Seoul’s most famous cherry blossom roads. Over 1,000 cherry trees line the Han River, creating a pink tunnel that’s perfect for photos.
💡 This is one of the most frequented cherry blossom viewing spots in all of Seoul. Lay out your rug and plant yourself here for the day!
Han River Sunset Picnic
As the sun sets, enjoy a picnic along the Han River with snacks like kimbap, ramyeon, and banana milk.
💡You’ll see many locals doing the same, making it a perfect chance to experience Korea like a local while soaking in the cherry blossom views.
Han River Night Cruise (Optional!)
If you’re up for it, end the night with a Han River night cruise, soaking in the city lights while cherry petals drift past. This gentle first day sets the tone for your springtime adventure in Seoul.
Tips:
- Arrive at Yeouido Han River Park late afternoon for the best sunset lighting and fewer crowds.
- If you’re tired from your flight, stick to a walk or picnic instead of the cruise!
Day 2 — Iconic Seoul Cherry Blossom Spots
Day 2 covers Seoul’s most iconic spring sights, combining culture, history, and nature in one picture-perfect day.
Gyeongbokgung Palace
Start your Day 2 adventure at Gyeongbokgung Palace, one of Seoul’s most iconic historical landmarks and the largest of the Five Grand Palaces built during the Joseon Dynasty. Its majestic architecture, traditional pavilions, and stone bridges create the perfect backdrop for cherry blossom viewing, especially in spring when the palace grounds are dotted with soft pink blooms.
For an authentic experience, consider renting a hanbok (traditional Korean clothing) nearby and wander through the palace grounds surrounded by pink blossoms — a truly K-drama-worthy experience!
💡 Be sure to check the guard changing ceremony at Gwanghwamun, which usually takes place a few times daily and offers a colorful, cultural spectacle with guards in traditional uniforms.
💡 Tips for visiting Gyeongbokgung Palace in spring:
- Arrive early to avoid crowds, especially during cherry blossom season.
- Bring a camera or smartphone tripod to capture the blossoms with the palace architecture.
- Take a short walk around the nearby Cheonggyecheon Stream afterward for more scenic cherry blossom spots.
Namsan Park
From there, head to Namsan Park and take the cable car up to N Seoul Tower for panoramic views of the city draped in spring colours.
Seokchon Lake
In the evening, visit Seokchon Lake, famous for its reflective waters and cherry blossom festival — one of the most photogenic spots in Seoul. This day combines culture, history, and nature, giving you the ultimate Seoul cherry blossom experience.
