Kyoto Hozugawa River Boat Sagano Romantic Train Tour

Our trip was really nice with a very sweet guide eiko san… Romantic train was one of the most romantic experience in kyoto. our chauffer was really sweet and gave us a comfortable ride to all locations. due to rain boat ride was cancelled but she took us around bamboo forest and temple instead of the boat ride due to bad weather. i definitely recommend this trip 💯

Did this tour with my family and we all thoroughly enjoyed it. Our tour guide Aki was kind, informative and always ensured no one was left behind. I really enjoyed the historical facts she provided while we walked through the gardens of Tenryu-ji Temple. The photos speak for themselves on how beautiful it was. After reading the reviews I wasn’t expecting very much with the lunch buffet but I liked it. It gave me Japanese school camp mess hall vibes and was tasty. Everything went to plan and based on my experience I would 100% recommend this tour. However, I understand some people get unlucky when the boat ride is cancelled due to low water levels or excess rain, and the river ride is a huge part of the experience. It was very beutiful experience started with romantic train then river ride,, it was so fun! the buffet was nice too then perfect time to stroll around arashiyama..Our tour guide was very informative and helpful..

a very good one day tour, the transportation was smoothly arranged, and itinerary was quite fruitful too, the Japanese guide is good though her English is not very fluet, but everything is very good. the lunch buffet is so so, but there is plenty of food you can grab on the street

This half day tour was the highlight of our holiday we are so glad we booked it. Absolute value for money. Excellent guide and very funny boatmen who work hard for their money. I would recommend to anyone visiting Arashiyma. Don’t forget to try the tofu ice cream after the bamboo forest, it’s pretty good.

So glad that Klook provides a halfday tour. We were able to use the remaining time to explore Arashiyama. Meetup venue was easy. Autumn view from the train ride was splendid and the boat ride was safe; our boatmen were really humorous, making the whole trip very enjoyable.

This time, I participated in the all-English tour of Japan, and the tour guide Aki explained everything very diligently and it was great! Because the Sagano Scenic Railway tickets are not available online during the peak maple viewing season, participating in this tour directly is very convenient because you don't have to queue up yourself in advance, you can just sit on the train and boat leisurely, everything is arranged very well! Lunch was buffet style in the crowded Arashiyama, I am very glad that I included it, so I don't have to squeeze with people to enjoy it directly. Today should be the most relaxing day of my free travel, highly recommended!

Have tried to book the Sagano train and it seemed difficult to book. So, eventually decided to book a tour, although much pricey, it did include transportation and tour. This tour included two options: half-day - just train and boat ride plus buffet lunch. one-day - including afternoon trip to Uji Boydion Temple, featuring phoenix hall and a matcha demo. It was a good trip. You need to note that for one-day trip, there was no time in Arashiyama to visit bamboos and Tenryu-ji. The guide was nice, although not being able to provide much historic background information. Overall, a good trip.

Advantages: 1. The meeting place is clear, and there will be an email with detailed instructions 2. The tour guide understands English and will also introduce the attractions and check-in locations along the way 3. This lazy bag is good for those who want to visit two attractions at once 4. There will be Disadvantages of the tour package arranged to be picked up and returned to Kyoto for connection with other means of transportation: 1. The schedule is too busy, and you have to catch the bus immediately after getting off at the Saga train terminal, and there is no time to go into the souvenir shop. 2. The price/performance ratio is not very high because of the train. The price of the ticket and the Hozu River Cruise is not more than HK$400, but this tour is close to HK$800. 3. The package does not include the Kyoto Railway Museum. Klook did not indicate that if the weather is bad, the Hozu River Cruise will be canceled and will be changed to a tour of the Kyoto Railway Museum. Tips: 1. If you want to play with the train, it is recommended to take the right side of the train (toward Kameoka) 2. If you are taking a boat, it is recommended to go to the restroom, because the boat trip is approximately 2 hours. 3. If you are taking a boat, it is recommended to take the right side ( (Towards Arashiyama)

We really enjoyed the trip , the views were beautiful and our tour guide was excellent. The only disappointment was that the boat ride was cancelled due to the rain, but the tour guide informed us that we will receive a refund. Overall, it was a great experience!
