Reviews
It is a very well designed and highly enjoyable tour. The food hunt is weaved in between leisure walks and visiting places of interests. Our tour on 3 Apr 2021 started with a wonderful Malay breakfast with teh tarik @ Kampung Gelam Cafe where locals love to frequent. An ice cream stop followed soon after. A hearty Malay dish (Nasi Ambeng) was served @ Michelin Bib Gourmand-listed restaurant Maimunah Restaurant in the early afternoon. And the tour ended at a nearby restaurant with another favourite dessert. Special thanks to Sumini and Ehsan who made their best effort to ensure quality of the tour experience, and our knowledgable tour guide Mr. Yusof who shared many fun facts and interesting stories. Overall it is an excellent tour to learn more about Malay culture and history.
The tour was interesting and food delicious, generous and well spaced. It started with a hearty breakfast of lontong, good insight into the Malay community of our region (and Kampong Glam) and ended with a great malay meal. The nasi kerabu demo was also very sincerely prepared. Highly recommend to anyone considering spending some hours to digest some culture and calories (the latter without too much guilt as there is some walking required)
Literally the best use of our RSV! We were looking for an activity that would combine culture, history, food, and sights into one experience and this was IT! We couldn't have asked for nicer tour guides and staff that brought so much life and meaning to an area that we have overlooked for so long. Shahidah tour company was so generous and caring with the food and made sure we were so full on new dishes from iconic spots around Kampong Glam. Loved this opportunity to experience Singapore and the Malay & Muslim Culture from an exciting new view. Definitely embark on this adventure yourself!
A fun and interesting walking tour that offers an insight into the history of Kampung Glam and it's development till Modern Singapore interspersed with delicious food (breakfast & lunch) breaks at renowned F&B outlets along the way 🤩👍
