really i have no complaints. basic hotel with clean amenities.
Stayed 1 night as staycation back in Dec 2021 to use the SRV voucher. Overall okay, have wifi, tv, basic necessities. But the room is dusty esp the window areas. Food redemption is fuss free.
Room was a little small, but the bed's comfort level is acceptable. Baked rice at e1 Wingz is amazing. I'd go support them again as a customer even if I am not staying in Hotel Classic.
The room was quite small but reasonably clean. The free set lunch was ok
The room was cosy and clean, though there was a smell from the shower area. The property is on an interesting street with many food options, with a small Giant supermarket nearby for drinks and snacks.
Service staff was good but the room is kind of old.
The hotel room is new and decent sized. Comfy for a short getaway. The only reservation I have is that although lunch/dinner is provided by the restaurant next door, it was not opened on those days. A bit disappointed as we were looking forward to a meal but unable to use the coupons as a result. Otherwise, the stay was good
Interesting experience staying at Venue Hotel. A note though, there is distinguished difference between Venue Hotel at 305 Joo Chiat and Venue Hotel the Lily at 238 Joo Chiat. In the booking page, it can be quite misleading as the photos for both hotels are inserted. Room for Venue Hotel is quite basic, not for family but good for couples. Good point about Venue Hotel at 305 Joo Chiat is the location as there are many good eateries around the area. Petite Pain Bakery is just downstairs and Commonman Coffee Roasters are just walking distance.
Do not be deceived by the early check in and late check out. I experienced no such thing. Firstly they told me to call on the day to inquire about the early check in, late check out, and free complimentary room upgrade. When i called on the day itself, the call was picked up by this chinese fat guy who was working at the counter. He talked to me like he was talking to a friend, completely unprofessional. When i asked for the above 3 items, he said and i quote "wah all u also want ah?" In my head i was thinking *but its listed on the website and i was told to ask for this* but i at least have the manners not to speak my mind. When i reached the place, there was no early check in, no late check out and no complimentary room upgrade and i was bluntly refused. Their condescending tone was like looking down on me just because i got the cheapest room. If im not wrong i chose the $90 room with my sg rediscover voucher so i dont need to top up money. But even if your customer is poor, this is no way to treat a customer. When i asked for the complimentary room upgrade, he said "but you chose the cheapest room" i thought to myself if the cheapest room cannot upgrade then why is it even listed in the website for this particular room about the upgrade?? Its like empty promises being made and we just end up disappointed. Anyway, after checking into the room, this $90 room is so tiny that i cant even open my luggage. I had to open it in the bathroom. Walls were very thin and i doubt there is sound proofing. I could hear the next door guy watching tv at 2am and the 2 receptionists being noisy woke me up in the middle of the night. Please at least have the decency to lower your volume, you are located at the first floor, and there are like 10 rooms located on the first floor. Both of you are disturbing 10-20 customers. The room only has one bedroom and one bathroom and no windows. Mattress was itchy too. The complimentary food at E1 wingz was good though, however unlike what is stated on the website, only the fish and chips and the 4 pc wings set is available. The date that i went to check in is 20 dec at 2+pm. To summarize, rude staff (probably only polite to people who purchased the better rooms and did not use the vouchers), empty promises, small room.
Post mentioned was for VENUE hotel with it’s pictures, turns out package was actually for VALUE hotel. Which is a totally different hotel and we didn’t expect the quality to differ so much from the pictures. Post and actual hotel package is so misleading. We felt cheated, disappointed and did not enjoy our stay.
