What to expect
You’ll go to Menjangan National Park with a guide for 2 guided snorkeling sessions to discover marine life and the reefs: one spot before and one after lunch. Lunch is on Menjangan Island and included in the price!
Reviews
Menjangan Island's sea is truly beautiful, with visibility reaching 15 meters right away. It's incredibly pretty, and the deep water color is different from Gili. The downside is that it's a full tour, so it involves a lot of waiting. The departure time from the shop was around 9 AM. I left from Lovina Beach at 6:30 AM, wondering if I'd be able to find a taxi. Luckily, I caught one right away, and the same driver waited and came back for me, saying taxis are really hard to come by. Consider this before you go. The freediving sessions were 40 minutes each, twice, with 1 hour for island sightseeing. The rest was waiting and travel time, and I experienced severe seasickness.
Serious staff, the snorkeling excursion was good, small groups and we saw a lot of fish and a couple of giant turtles. It said they spoke Spanish but they didn't, they spoke English well.
It would have been better if they had a GoPro rental service or a service to take photos for us. Next time I would like to try diving. I was glad to see so many turtles and fish.
