Guide

Jilin Provincial Museum, formerly known as Jilin Provincial Museum, was founded in 1951. In 1954, it moved to Changchun City with the provincial government. On April 28, 2016, the new Jilin Provincial Museum opened, with a building area of 32,000 square meters. Jilin Provincial Museum is a museum of history and art, directly under the Jilin Provincial Department of Culture, and is a national first-class museum. As of July 2016, Jilin Provincial Museum had more than 120,000 cultural relics, including 295 first-class cultural relics, 3,379 second-class cultural relics, 14,280 third-class cultural relics, and nearly 100,000 other cultural relics. Among them, cultural relics from the Goguryeo, Bohai, Liao, and Jin dynasties, as well as Chinese calligraphy and painting from various dynasties and cultural relics of the Northeast Anti-Japanese United Army, hold important positions nationwide.
