very good show for 200-years history of Oenang, well presented and delicious dishes, extremely impressive and highly recommended

The show introduces the audience to Penang's 200-year history through a staged song and dance performance. It's primarily in Mandarin, with some English, Hokkien, and Teochew dialects interspersed. I personally found it wonderful, but those not interested in history might not fully engage with the performance. The meal presentation was very thoughtful, featuring a fusion of Chinese, Western, and Nyonya cuisine. Although the ingredients weren't high-end, the flavors were excellent. The only minor issue was the beef (satay) in the main course, which was a bit too tough; however, the fish main course was very good, and I highly recommend the other dishes. After purchasing on Klook, I received a WhatsApp message from UMI UMI customer service to confirm the order and assign seats. I was given a middle seat in the third row, which was an excellent viewing spot. Thanks to customer service for the suggestion; if you want to interact with the performers, you can choose a side seat. Overall, it was commendable. The price initially felt a bit high, but considering there's a live performance, multiple appetizers, a main course, dessert, and non-alcoholic cold drinks, plus several attentive waitstaff, I highly recommend it. I hope this performance gains more recognition and appreciation. 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻

It's absolutely worth seeing and every penny! The 'muimui' Penang Banquet stage play presents Penang's history through a fantastic performance. The actors and dancers are incredibly dedicated, and the food is delicious and even ties into the story. You can't record videos during the show, but photos are allowed. Honestly, I was so captivated by many classic scenes that I forgot to take pictures because it was just too brilliant and moving! You can also take photos with the actors during the final curtain call. What touched me most was that I couldn't book for my desired date, so I booked for the following day. When I called to confirm the meal and seating, I also asked if I could change the showtime. The administrative staff member who assisted me was very kind; she immediately offered to check with the kitchen about meal availability and quickly called me back. She changed my booking to my preferred showtime and arranged excellent seats for me. I'm truly grateful! 🥰 Penang traffic is very heavy at night, so I recommend everyone book a ride in advance, preferably using a reservation feature. 🥲 Both going to and leaving the venue, I spent over 10 minutes just waiting for a car. Even before my reservation time, they immediately asked if I was on my way. I said yes, I had left early but didn't expect such heavy traffic. They then told me not to worry and that they would give all guests a 10-minute buffer before the performance started. Luckily, I arrived just before the show began. Their service is truly thoughtful! 👏

interesting concept. food was alright, you need to know abit of history of Penang to get context to the performance cause it’s artistic. only serves hot water, doesn’t have cold nor warm. difficult to get server attention even though VIP. found that if you got the tables at the ground floor, it would be better. VIP doesn’t come with perks.

The food is delicious, and the show is spectacular. It's a great way to learn about Penang's culture and history.

I’d like to share some feedback on our immersion experience on 7 August. The performance was excellent and really on point. However, we were quite disappointed with the meal experience, especially as we had purchased the Elite tickets for our group of 8 pax. Two of the courses for two pax served were incorrect — we were supposed to receive sambal seafood and bird’s nest with chawanmushi, but due to an internal miscommunication, two of us were served miso vegetable soup and teriyaki chicken instead. We understand mistakes can happen, but what was disappointing was that there was no service recovery offered, despite us paying a premium for the Elite experience. As someone who is a foodie, it was quite sad to pay for something and not receive what was promised. While we enjoyed the performance, this did affect the overall experience. We hope you can review this and consider an appropriate partial refund or goodwill compensation for the two affected guests.
