I visited the Longqing Gorge Ice Festival on the second day of its opening, and it was a dazzling winter spectacle. I'm grateful to tour guide Jack and driver Master Tian Wei for their thoughtful arrangements. We were given a private, chauffeured tour of the classic Great Wall and the hidden gem of the Snow Festival. The snow sculptures here are inside a building (at the bottom of a dam?), so the enchanting light-up display is fascinating even during the day. I'm grateful to our guide, Lily, for keeping pace with us and taking nearly 100 photos.
