Attraction Introduction

Plan A Explore the solemn and magnificent Nikko Toshogu Shrine, stroll along Lake Chuzenji, and admire the beautiful lake and mountain scenery. Feel the awe-inspiring rush of Kegon Falls, and finally relax in the Nikko Onsen hot spring village, enjoying a day of tranquility.

  • Nikko Toshogu Shrine A World Heritage Site, Nikko Toshogu Shrine is the resting place of Tokugawa Ieyasu. The magnificent carved buildings are hidden among cedar trees, and details such as “see no evil, speak no evil, hear no evil” tell stories of history and wisdom. Walking through it feels like stepping into the light and shadow of the Edo period.
  • Nikko Souvenir Street Visit the shopping streets around Nikko Tobu Station and in front of Toshogu Shrine, where various wagashi (Japanese confectionery) shops, cultural and creative small shops, and stamp-making workshops line the streets. You can stroll around and discover souvenir treasures.
  • Lake Chuzenji Located within Nikko National Park, Lake Chuzenji offers picturesque scenery throughout the four seasons. The lake reflects Mount Nantai, with spring cherry blossoms, summer greenery, autumn foliage, and winter snow each presenting a unique charm. The lakeside is quiet and leisurely, making it an excellent place for walking, boating, and enjoying the scenery.
  • Kegon Falls The towering 97-meter Kegon Falls, with its silver-like stream cascading down, creates a resounding echo in the valley. As the seasons change, it is lush green in spring and summer, fiery red with maple leaves in autumn, and covered in ice like a crystal painting in winter, captivating the heart.
  • Nikko Onsen Nikko Onsen hot springs are clear, warm, and comfortable. Immerse yourself in them to wash away travel fatigue and experience the perfect blend of nature and hot springs. ※The hot spring facilities in Nikko Onsen Village are public nude baths, with no private bathhouses available. Swimsuits are not required, but towels must be brought by yourself.

Review for: [Route A] Nikko Toshogu Shrine + Kegon Falls + Nikko Onsen Hot Spring

Amazing Nikko day tour! Both our guide and driver were excellent — professional, friendly, and very attentive. Everything was smooth and well organized. Nikko was absolutely beautiful (and very cold!), but the scenery was totally worth it. The tour was especially great for a small group — comfortable, well-paced, and never rushed. Highly recommended!

Review for: [Route A] Nikko Toshogu Shrine + Kegon Falls + Nikko Onsen Hot Spring

In a word, this tour exceeded expectations. As a solo traveler, I was hesitant to rent a car, so I looked for other options and found this day trip. Despite the long distance, I was able to leisurely explore the highlights of Nikko. The final onsen experience was like a gift, perfect for relieving fatigue. I felt that it would have been good to extend the time, even if it meant shortening the time at Kegon Falls. Even though there were Taiwanese, American, and Korean travelers mixed together, the guide took care of each of us in our own languages, making it a completely comfortable trip. I would like to express my gratitude to guide Heo Mi-yeong. I would love to do this kind of trip again.

I went on my first trip to Nikko on January 21st, and thanks to the great care from our guide, Heo Young-mi, I had a wonderful time. Although the weather was cold, she speaks Korean well, gave fun and kind explanations, and I am very satisfied. I think it will be a memorable trip.

This tour is very convenient for travelers who don't drive, as you can visit several spots in one day. It's a small group tour with a driver who also acts as a guide. Essentially, they drive you to the attractions, but there isn't much commentary, so it depends on individual preference. The time spent at each location is a bit short; for example, the hot spring visit was only an hour, which was a bit of a shame. However, it's still great to be able to cover so many sights on a day trip.
