Review for: Sushi-Making Experience (English-Led, Small Group)

Experience: Sushi instructor Kana and her foreign husband assistant were very friendly and easygoing. Before the class, they chatted with our family, learned about our travel plans, and provided us with a lot of information about traditional Japanese culture and local life. The sushi-making process was conducted entirely in English and was easy to understand. We learned to make sushi rice and a series of delicious sushi and gunkan maki. We were all very excited when we tasted the food we made ourselves. After the class, they even gave us a sushi recipe and tools, so we can practice at home, which was very thoughtful and meaningful.

Review for: Sushi-Making Experience (English-Led, Small Group)

We had such a great time at this sushi making class! The instructors were friendly, patient, and made everyone feel welcome from the start. The class was kept small (only 8 people), which created a relaxed atmosphere and made it easy to chat and get to know the other participants. It was also a fantastic family activity. Our 6- and 9-year-old daughters were able to follow the instructions and make their own sushi from start to finish, and they were so proud of what they created. The sushi we made was absolutely delicious, and we left feeling confident we could recreate it at home. A nice bonus was the shopping recommendations at the end of the class. We discovered some great local shops and hidden gems that we probably wouldn't have found otherwise. We'd definitely recommend this experience to anyone visiting the area, especially families!

Kanna and her partner were amazing. You could tell they were the owners and really cared for the sushi making process. they gave us great insight into the process and history. Kanna’s stories were also wonderful about her childhood and trip to the USA. The beautiful building has so much character and artisan influences throughout. The limited class size made it extra special. we also learned how to make makka (rolled sushi) which is a bonus from just the Nigiri style.
