Shuzenji Nature Park The “Maple Forest” in Shuzenji Nature Park is arguably the most representative maple viewing spot on the entire Izu Peninsula! Over 1,000 maple trees, ranging in age from several decades to over a century, dye the entire park a vibrant red. Visiting here on a sunny afternoon, watching the sunlight filtering through the trees, is incredibly dreamy and spectacular!
Shuzenji Onsen Village Shuzenji Onsen is the oldest hot spring area on the Izu Peninsula, with a history of over 1,000 years, and is known as the “Little Kyoto of Izu.” The scenery within the onsen village is picturesque, with many places worth visiting. For example, the “Bamboo Grove Path” in the heart of the onsen village offers views of lush green bamboo forests, comparable to the bamboo forest scenery of Arashiyama in Kyoto! As you stroll through the onsen village, you will encounter five bridges, each representing various wishes such as relationships, love, parenting, couples, and marriage. In the autumn, the surrounding maple leaves turn red, and strolling here allows you to not only enjoy the beautiful autumn foliage but also believe that your wishes will come true!
Mishima Skywalk Located in Mishima City, Shizuoka Prefecture, the “Mishima Skywalk” is 400 meters long and is the longest pedestrian suspension bridge in Japan. From the bridge, you can enjoy a magnificent view of both Mount Fuji, the highest mountain in Japan, and Suruga Bay, the deepest bay in Japan. As the seasons and time change, the local scenery will show its different faces, making it enjoyable to visit at any time. ※Includes Mishima Skywalk admission fee
Hakone Shrine Hakone Shrine has a history of over 1,200 years and is one of the leading shrines for good luck in the Kanto region of Japan. Famous military commanders of ancient times, such as Minamoto no Yoritomo and Tokugawa Ieyasu, visited this place before going to war. In addition, a must-see when visiting Hakone Shrine is the giant torii gate in Lake Ashi, which is very popular among foreigners. Many Japanese people also visit this place to take pictures when they come to Hakone, so don’t miss it.
