Beijing Private Tour:Optional Mutianyu/Badaling Great Wall+Ming Tomb

We had a fantastic full-day tour with Sherry and couldn’t have asked for a better guide. She was friendly, knowledgeable and made the whole day enjoyable and easy. The Mutianyu section of the Great Wall was incredible. We visited Watchtowers 5, 6 and 7 and the views were spectacular. Taking the chairlift up was a great experience, and the toboggan ride back down was so much fun and definitely a highlight! We then enjoyed a buffet lunch before visiting the Ming Tombs. we chose to visit the underground Dingling Tomb - it was fascinating and gave us a wonderful insight into the history and burial traditions of the Ming Dynasty. Sherry shared lots of interesting information throughout the day and was always happy to answer our questions. She made sure we were comfortable and never felt rushed. It was a long day but absolutely worthwhile. The Great Wall, chairlift and toboggan, lunch and Ming Tombs made for an unforgettable Beijing experience. We highly recommend this tour and Sherry!

It was initially difficult because they do not put you in direct contact with the guide and had to wait in our lobby until we were approached by Kelly! We had the pleasure of having Kelly Chen as our guide for the Great Wall of China and Ming Dynasty Tombs tour, and she delivered an excellent experience from start to finish. Kelly was well-prepared, punctual, and clearly very knowledgeable about the sites we visited. She provided detailed historical context, answered all our questions patiently, and explained things in a way that was both easy to understand and engaging. What stood out was her ability to balance being informative without overwhelming us. She gave us the space to enjoy the sites while still guiding us through the important highlights. We had a great experience with our tour guide, Andy. He is very friendly, knowledgeable, and fluent in both English and Mandarin, which made communication smooth and enjoyable. Andy took excellent care of our family throughout the trip and also shared insightful information about other attractions in Beijing that enriched our visit. Our driver, Mr. Sun, was equally impressive. He is a safe and reliable driver who ensured our comfort by providing bottled water and keeping the vehicle cool in the hot weather. We truly appreciated the thoughtful service from both Andy and Mr. Sun—highly recommended!

Private tour is the way to go. The tour guide, Edward, was very knowledgeable and gave a very good explanation of the history of both attractions. He was readily available to answer any other questions we had about Beijing / China too.

Excellent tour. My guide Sherry was very friendly and taught me a lot about the places we visited and Chinese culture. The tour fulfilled everything agreed upon regarding schedules, lunch, and places (Great Wall and Ming Tombs), and the driver ZhangBo and the transportation were also excellent. Highly recommended.

we started the trip earlier to avoid crowd, the tour guide and driver arrived at our hotel around 7. there is quite bad traffic from hotel to Mutianyu but we still arrived before the crowd build up. it is a shame we cannot walk more on the Great Wall due to time constraint, we went up with cable car and down with the slide which the kids love so much. we went to Ming’s tomb, we haven’t noticed that the trip did not include the sacred way. it is a nice day out anyway. thank you
