Mengalum Island Snorkel & Sea Adventure from Kota Kinabalu

Highly recommend. The snorkeling tour is very professional and nice.Firstly, we took a boat to Mengalum Island and enjoyed the beach there. About 11:00AM, we went to two beautiful snorkeling spots in total. There were all kinds of fish in both places, and we also saw starfish and octopuses🐙.After lunch, just enjoyed chill time on the beach🏖️. I had a very wonderful and memorable experience in Mengalum Island. Happy new year and all the best wishes to the one who is reading the review😬

We boarded a popular influencer boat, and the young crew members were very dedicated, singing and dancing. I sat in the front row and was quite scared; the boat swayed a lot. On the return trip, sitting at the back of the boat was much better. We snorkeled in two beautiful spots with lots of fish.

I absolutely loved this trip! Even though I booked through Klook, it seemed to be merged with MK, as the base was MK's. The staff on the boat were incredibly energetic and kept the atmosphere lively. We were lucky to have crystal-clear waters, and the bubble activity at the base was so much fun, even with the queue. It was definitely worth it!

What a surprise.. when the messages came through the night before, it turned out to be the same team we'd gone with just two days earlier. The real bonus? Seeing the same awesome guide (Birdy) popping out of the van to greet us at pick-up! Once again, top marks from start to finish. The admin team was well organised, with excellent communication throughout. Yes, the boat ride out was a bit bumpy, but absolutely worth it. Watching Birdy dive straight in with his free-diving skills had us humming “Under the Sea” from The Little Mermaid. He held his breath, glided all the way down, sets the scene for some spectacular underwater shots of the coral colony. Making the experience extra special. If that's not true dedication and a perfect display of Malaysian hospitality, I don't know what is. Hint: Don't sit on the edge of the boat towards the end unless you want a 4D experience of being drenched on the way there and back. ;)

Honsetly this is not a PREMIUM tour, its combine with other agents boat is quite crowded, toilets and changing room has no water and dirty. Glass kayak & paddle first come first serve have to wait very long only can use as others just hold on to it to take photos. I rated 4 star is because of Mr Wan our guide, he’s amazing, funny and always ensure safety of our group especially during snorkelling no one leaves behind. He’s a great photographer, must try his underwater photography shots!

Very good, the organisation team were very helpful and professional.. With fun and laughter too. Long boat trip thru n back bt with lots of entertainment by the team. The island is indeed beautifully Sands with clear water.

It's a bit of a trek – an hour-long boat ride – but it's worth it because the sea is so much more beautiful and vibrant! The guides are super friendly, they teach you how to snorkel, and they take tons of pictures. The weather was incredibly clear, so the sea was sparkling and absolutely gorgeous. And on the hotel pickup at the end, they played an Indian version of Apartment... hahaha.

Instructor: Instructor Birdy was truly kind and the best. During the tour, they checked to make sure we were keeping up well. More than anything, I was so touched that they kept asking if the injury I got from my mistake was okay, and even bought medicine for me when dropping me off at the hotel after the tour. And they always took beautiful photos for us first to capture special moments. While traveling to the island, they even took our phones on the boat to take pictures of the ocean view. It was so much fun that I was sad to say goodbye. I really made good memories and was happy thanks to the instructor! I LOVE YOU BIRDY!

We recommend bringing motion sickness medicine since it's about a 1-hour boat ride. When we arrived, the weather was great, so the island was absolutely beautiful! We went snorkeling in two spots. The first spot had a decent amount of fish, but the second had almost none.

The water around Mantanani Island is incredibly clear, and there are many fish, some with unique appearances, which was quite an eye-opener. The sand on the beach is as fine as flour; walking on the soft, fluffy sand was very comfortable. Our guide, Bird, took great care of us during snorkeling. Many thanks to all the staff who led the tour for giving us an unforgettable and happy day.
