We booked this property based on the beautiful photos posted of the resort, but what we found was nothing like what was advertised. Instead of a resort, it felt more like an old, run-down hotel that has been neglected.
The property was dirty throughout. The old carpet, both in the common areas and in our room, was stained, worn out, and in desperate need of replacement. The bathroom was outdated and had visible mold. The sofa was so dirty and worn that I covered it with towels before sitting on it because I didn't feel comfortable using it as-is.
The resort was also under construction, which was never communicated to us beforehand. The sliding glass door was covered with dirt and grime, indicating it hadn't been cleaned in quite some time. Nearly all of the furniture appeared to be 20–30 years old and badly in need of updating.
To make matters worse, there was a strong, unpleasant odor throughout the resort that smelled like a sewage issue.
The most disappointing part of our stay was that I qualified for room upgrades at check-in. I requested an upgrade, and this was the room we were assigned. If this was considered an upgrade, I can't imagine what the standard rooms look like.
Overall, this property was a huge disappointment and did not resemble the beautiful resort shown in the photos.
