Solo stay

Lovely hotel, impeccable service and great breakfast. Initially, there was a little issue with the toilet and i got upgraded to a nice suite on the 5th floor; that's the way you look after your customers.

We loved the hotel! The staff is really welcoming and some of them were able to speak English. The room were spacious with a nice view. We had a different breakfast every day (3 nights) and they were excellent. My mom is a smoker and there is a smoking area directly at the hotel. I would go back anytime, I loved it.

Lovely waterfront hotel with spa and pool. Breakfast was included and it was very generous in size. The hotel was quiet, had good amenities and they replenished the towels and pajamas daily. There is a walking path out front, but no access to the water. Closest beach was Wakasa Wada which is beautiful. There are some markets and dining nearby and what appeared to be a small mall with specialty stores. We ate at a local izikaya recommended by the hotel. Really good and such a nice and welcoming staff.

We got one of the largest rooms on the top floor (fifth). It is a big suite - perhaps the biggest of the hotel rooms that I have stayed around the world. All other rooms have a view of the sea (Wakasa Bay). The hotel gives a coupon to use the swimming pool / spa complex next door. For the pool, sauna and sea water jaccuzi, you need a swimming cap (which you can buy from a vending machine). Communication in English is somewhat limited. The "English breakfast" is not what I would expect from English breakfast, but it is a delicious combination of pre-fixed menu of roast beef, poached (gratinated) egg, poached fish with bechamel sauce, salad, yogurt+fruit served to your table, in addition to bread, juice, coffee, tea, rice, miso soup served buffet style. Super clean and spacious all around. It is in a complex with some super market and "michi-no-eki" local produce/food shop.

Pool and spa policy for children is disappointing and NOT written on the hotel reservation website of expedia. Children under 3 year old are not welcome in the children pool! they are not welcome in the public shower. The hotel is great for stay. The pool and spa are businesses from a different administration, so the rules for the hotel stay may or may not apply for the pool and spa. We travel with a child, and he was not welcome in the pool or spa area, so we could not enjoy a family moment. There is a children's pool, but my son is 1 year old and not allowed to use it! It was very disappointing.

Such a wonderful place but the swimming pool staff was quite strict, they need to be more polite and let the pool open for little bit longer than 9pm.
