Lovely experience. Our guide Surui was also professional and affable. He was punctual, made adjustments for us so we can do the boat ride before the rain and also made sure he ordered our lunch in advance with the restaurant. learned alot from him regarding the windmills as well as the beautiful houses at Giethoorn.

This Countryside & Windmills All-In Tour is extremely good value for money. For just S$55 on Klook, you see so much—it's a much better deal than buying from the local Amsterdam agencies, which charge €45 on the ticket. We loved seeing the inside of a working windmill, watching how clogs are crafted, and catching the Gouda cheese and stroopwafel making demonstrations (plus getting to taste them!). It’s highly educational, fun, and moves at a great, brisk pace. Perfect if you prefer to keep moving and don't want to spend too long in one place. Highly recommended!

A 10/10 experience, coming from a female solo traveller! It may be more exp than the rest but it’s worth every penny. there is only a small group of us (8 pax) and the guide (Reinier) will take care of you from the start to the end, from preparing water bottles, picking you up directly from the hotel, preparing powerbank, wifi and everything! he makes sure we go early enough to avoid the crowd and get good pictures (he knows the best spots for pics). As compared to a large bus tour, this is a curated tour for smaller groups to understand the history of the places, and this tour includes the additional Lego House in Zandaam and most importantly Giethoorn which is a MUST go cause it’s so charming. I cannot recommend this tour and the tour guide Reiner enough!

Our tour guide from K7 Travel was Surui. It was a small group of 8 people, picked up and dropped off in a 9-seater van. The guide sends a text message the day before to remind you of the meeting spot and time, and arrives at the meeting place about 5 minutes early, so there is no need to arrive too early (the area around the meeting point is open with no shelter from rain or sun). The only regret was that it rained all day, but the guide was very thoughtful and prepared an umbrella for everyone in advance. After arriving at the Zaanse Schans, the guide led us on a walk, flexibly adjusting the tour pace based on the weather and other conditions, while sharing interesting history and information about the Netherlands and the various sights along the way. After touring the cheese factory and wooden clog factory together, we had about an hour and a half of free time. Next, we headed to Giethoorn, where we had a group lunch first. There were two options for lunch: Chinese food (beef noodles or fried rice) or a Dutch meal. After eating, we all went on a boat tour, which lasted about half an hour. Following the boat tour, we had free time—nearly 2 hours of it. As I recall, we left Giethoorn at 4:00 PM and were back in downtown Amsterdam by 5:30 PM. Since both of these attractions are somewhat far from the city center and traveling there independently is actually quite inconvenient, I feel that joining a guided tour like this offers great value for the money, with plenty of free time allotted. I highly recommend it for travelers who want some free roaming time without the hassle of dealing with transportation on their own.

We purchased a Keukenhof ticket package with a shuttle bus from Amsterdam, with flexible pick-ups every 30 minutes. Klook partners with official tourism partner "This is Holland." Easy to use, and everyone was happy. The shuttle bus was more convenient than public transportation. There is no guide just bus driver to deliver us. because I visited on the last day on May 10th 2026, it certainly wasn't as good as in the middle of the season when the tulips and other flowers weren't fully bloomed.

What to know before visiting Zaanstad

What to expect in Zaanstad

The things-to-do catalogue in Zaanstad is led by guided and independent Tours, which cover the full range from entry-level options to higher-end experiences, so travellers can use the city as a base for sightseeing and curated local trips. Demand builds through spring and early summer, peaking in April and remaining strong into June, while January is the quietest month. That rhythm means you'll find the most choices in April–June and the fewest options to pick from in January.

How to choose which activities to book

Your main decision is whether to pick a simple, budget-friendly outing or a more comprehensive guided tour, and Tours are the category that offers the widest range of prices. The widest range category lists a typical price of PHP 6,006, with an entry-level around PHP 4,044 and an upper-end near PHP 7,374, while the same category also appears as the most affordable way in so it’s useful for filling gaps in an itinerary.

If you want predictable pricing where shopping around gains little, expect limited variation because Tours are also the only category here; for travellers seeking a middle ground, Tours’ typical price is PHP 6,006 and that mid-range segment is where inclusion and format can vary most.

When travellers from the Philippines book

Most travellers book about 15 days ahead, while the earliest planners lock in plans around 37 days out. Because peak demand arrives in April, allow that extra cushion if you plan to travel in April.

How Zaanstad prices compare

The table below shows how the city's top activities compare on price so you can place a budget before choosing.

Category Typical Price Usual Range
Tours PHP 6,006 PHP 4,044 – PHP 7,374

Typical price is the median paid on Klook; the usual range covers the middle half of bookings, so cheaper and pricier options exist outside it; prices are shown with their currency code. Based on Klook booking data, August 2025 – July 2026.
