Our tour guide's name was But, and honestly, But was the best guide I've ever had on any tour. Besides introducing us to the various plant species in the mountains, he was also very humorous. But is a very enthusiastic guide, and he was busy making bamboo cups for us the whole way. Without him, I believe this trip wouldn't have been so much fun! If you want to book a tour directly with But as your guide, you might be able to book a tour with Coconuts Tours!

This trek is more than just a hike—it’s a cultural immersion. With But’s guidance, the journey felt personal and enriching, blending nature, history, and human connection. Highly recommended for anyone seeking a meaningful adventure in Chiang Rai. I joined the Chiang Rai trekking tour by Coconut Tours, booked seamlessly through Klook, and it turned out to be one of the highlights of my Northern Thailand journey.

Epic, adventurous, beautiful, lush and difficult 7km hike. Our guide, Baht, stopped to teach us various plants. The lunch in the traditional Lizu hut overlooking the valley was spectacularly delicious. The bugs weren't too bad with a little bug spray. Ensure your wear hiking shoes with good tread for the slippery (and sandy) rocks. You should definitely use a trekking pole for the steep declines.

Very good jungle trek. The lunch was amazing, we got to help cooking the dishes. It was a full experience. The views were incredible. It’s not an easy hike, but it is worth it.

If you're looking for an off-the-beaten-path, tourist-free, authentic experience with beautiful scenery, this is the tour for you! This is the kind of tour you can't do on your own, and our guide, But, was really exceptional! Throughout the trek, he gives you explanations about all the flora we encounter. The trek is about 10km long, there is some elevation gain, so you have to be ready to walk, but the scenery is really worth it. The lunch prepared, including things brought back from the walk, is a great experience too! We really loved this tour, which alone is worth the trip to Chiang Rai. Thanks again, But!

Tour guide: but is a very good tour guide. Along the way, he introduced us to many, many plants, picked spices for us to smell, and wild fruits for us to taste. He understood when we needed to rest, and although the whole trip was very long, I didn't feel tired. He made very exquisite bamboo cups for us and engraved our names on them in Thai. Hiking difficulty: It is a slightly challenging route. The rainforest is slippery, and some places are very steep. If you have done regular exercise before, such as fitness, running, dancing, or playing ball, then it will be a lot of fun for you. Scenery: Very beautiful Equipment provided: The guide provides us with water and bamboo sticks

Incredible experience among the bamboo forests. We had lunch in a village with a breathtaking view, visited a beautiful waterfall, and drank an espresso in the bamboo bar overlooking the jungle. Butinkaew was the best guide we could have asked for: friendly, engaging, and very knowledgeable. He let us taste the herbs and fruits of the jungle, explaining their uses. While we struggled to keep up with him during the 4-hour walk through the jungle, he carved beautiful tea cups for us from the bamboo branches collected along the way (he carved one for each of us as a souvenir). I highly recommend this experience to everyone!
