Stayed at St. Giles Wembley Penang and had a pleasant, comfortable stay.
First, cleanliness is well up to standard. The room was tidy upon check-in, bedding and bathroom were spotless, and common areas like the lift lobby and pool deck are regularly maintained. It feels hygienic and well-kept, which is the baseline expectation for a city hotel.
The location is the standout advantage. Situated on Jalan Magazine right in the heart of George Town, you’re literally minutes away from authentic local food. Walk 5–10 minutes and you’ll hit popular hawker streets, traditional kopitiams and well-known local restaurants – perfect if eating your way through Penang is your main plan. Komtar and nearby malls are also within walking distance for convenience.
The hotel itself is decent, nothing overly fancy but fully functional and comfortable for leisure stays. It’s a reliable, good-value option for anyone prioritising location and cleanliness. Recommended for short leisure trips to Penang.

the night market is just nearby. Breakfast, lunch and dinner just nearby. different stall and pushchair choices available at different timing. mall is also nearby. walkable distance to upside down museum, glass museum and chowrasta morning market. stay is comfortable.

We had a wonderful stay at Cititel hotel. The front desk personnel, Mr Bani was very caring and nice, always enquiring if we needed any assistance. We had to trouble him over some minor issues and he handled it expeditiously, with a warm and smiling face. Also wish to complement Technician Nasreen for assisting me to unlock my luggage when I had some problem with it. Generally the hotel staff are all very courteous and you can be sure we shall be back there again.

My top choice hotel whenever I am in Penang. Hotel is well kept and come with a Michelin star Restaurant. hotel is conveniently located hear many food and attractions.
