It was a bit of a circus with various shopping opportunities, but we were traveling in a small group with great people. The most interesting part for us was the first day and the different boat trips on the Mekong.
A pleasant surprise was the overnight stay in Cần Thơ. We discovered an amazing café and a small street food place with seafood. The hotel for the night was quite okay, although one of our rooms didn’t have a proper window.
The early morning visit to the floating market was a bit disappointing — by that hour (around 8 AM), it was mostly just tourists. After getting off the boat, we were approached by an English teacher and his students, and we ended up practicing conversation with the kids, which turned out to be a lovely experience, though it might not be for everyone.
The trip ended on a high note — we cooked our own Vietnamese pancake, had lunch, and then enjoyed a short bike ride.
