Fantastic 5.0
Our Guide Mr Lee is smiley and friendly. His guide us at little Edo Street and recommend many nice streets foods and snack to buy home. Since it was raining, he suggested we should go for Prince shopping mall instead as my husband unable to do lots of walking. We are fortunate to have him as our guide.

Fantastic 5.0
An absolute must-see – the Railway Museum in Saitama! Anyone with even a spark of enthusiasm for trains will love this museum. Spanning over 9,000 square meters, visitors can delve deep into the history of Japanese railways, featuring real locomotives, interactive exhibits, and impressive technological experiences. (Sumikai) Over 36 faithfully reproduced vehicles are on display, and thanks to lighting, music, and video effects, even stationary trains come to life. (ANA) The absolute highlight for me was the ride on the small mini-train – in that moment, you completely forget your age and become a child again. That smile won't fade anytime soon! The museum is easily accessible from Ōmiya Station via the "New Shuttle" – the journey itself sets the mood for the adventure. (Japanliebe) For families, train enthusiasts, and nostalgia lovers: definitely plan a visit!

What to know before visiting Saitama

What visitors most book and when

Saitama’s visitors most often book museum visits, followed by spa-style massages, with outdoor and sports activities and guided tours trailing behind. Demand rises through midyear and peaks in August, then drops to its lowest point in November, so the rhythm of the year matters when planning what to do.

Best activities by traveller type

Families will find museums especially rewarding — they’re the top-picked category and suit a range of ages and interests. Couples can mix quieter museum time with relaxing massages for a low-key escape. Solo travellers and small groups who want more variety can look into tours, which show the widest range of price and style, while outdoor and sports activities suit those after something more active.

What travellers from the Philippines tend to book ahead

Most things in Saitama can be booked flexibly a day or two before, since typical bookings cluster around four days out; still, the earliest planners often secure experiences roughly sixteen days ahead. Booking ahead matters most in August, when demand is at its peak and popular options are likelier to fill up.

How the main categories compare on price and fit

Massages are the easiest and most affordable way into Saitama’s activities, representing the entry-level price point. Museums sit at a modest mid-range level and are the city’s most-booked choice, making them a reliable pick for many travellers. Tours offer the widest spread of options, from budget to premium, so they suit a broad variety of tastes and trip styles. Outdoor and sports activities are the priciest on average and appeal to visitors looking for active, specialised experiences.
